Expressed in language hermetic and allegorical, it still manages to reach those who are unable to dissect and transfigure this, with emotions, managing to delicately touch inner chords and somehow awaken flashes of dormant unconscious memory in the reader.
Having for years now advanced on an invisible path known as ignote to those who have never entered it and which leads by itself elsewhere, out of any sort of projection and leading to the authentic, I can affirm that the real curse consists in this:
"To assimilate and be aware of things that you will never be able to expose or say for what they really are"
There are various reasons, the words in some cases are a limit, there are no terms that can explain certain things and although with those that are there you try to give a vague explanation, the result is totally distorting the meaning.

Other things cannot be said, they could never be understood, in addition to this the risk is to regress until you forget everything about where you have arrived, why and who you are.
The truth is that certain things are not chosen, they choose you, by virtue of what you are, your awareness, your ability, your loyalty, your courage.
How much you are able to demonstrate, first of all to yourself and then to access the rest, so that you become the custodian of something unique on the way to reach the true self.
And silence in this case is ambrosia, so you are left with the ability to sigh between words only what is possible, since your task is not to lead others to a where, but to ignite, even if a spark, in the remote depths of one's being. ..
Whether to turn it into a flame or put it out only to them is given to know as much as to do it.
The royal darkness accompanies and shows the invisible to those who burn with their own light, otherwise it overwhelms them until of their true self no trace remains.

We had 7 interviews and one Profile of the St.Louis Zoo event: Goths at the Zoo. We interviewed one Canadian, two Americans (both from the east coast) and four Europeans. Not a bad first year back.

As for the visitors to the site, it's nothing like it was ten years ago. We saw 6,700 page views from 4,725 visitors. Creating 13 unique visits per day.

I have a few interviews started for 2020, and while I didn't get the ten interviews that I was hoping for for 2019, I saw enough interest in the site to make it worth keeping it going.

If you want to have a chance at being Goth Girl of the Year 2020, send me your submission. I'll conduct an interview with you by e-mail and you too could be a Goth Girl of the Week.
Otherwise, I like to mix styles and stand out. I always like wearing dresses and skirts and having a very feminine look. I'm also a fan of lace, I appreciate dark hues. For hair, I like to change color, I have a slight preference for red hair, purple and blue.

GGotW: When did you start modeling?
SP: I started modeling around the start of 2019 but I didn't transition into alt modeling until April 2019. I'm still pretty new!

GGotW: What kind of modeling did you do at first?
SP: I did mostly classic Florida modeling - bikini and fitness type shoots.

GGotW: What caused you to transition from bikini modeling to ALT modeling?
SP: I didn't transition out of bikini modeling entirely. As you can see from my Instagram feed, I definitely still do bikini shoots. Before I started alt modeling, I was trying to maintain the "girl next door" look that's classic for Florida models. But, that didn't match my personal style at all - it wasn't very authentic. Now, I'm modeling suits that are more alternative (like my buckle suit or my leather bikini) and the makeup has my gothier vibe that's much more "me" and I think people pick up on that.

GGotW: How have you been able to push for ALT modeling in more mainstream adverts?
SP: Leather is super in right now so that's an easy stepping stone. I was able to do a more alt look for a car advertisement which you don't see a lot. The company that hired me was into my leather skirt/jacket/booties look so I paired it with darker make up for an alt style.

I've started to blend my bikini experience with alt makeup - it's being received well! I'd like to do more of that in the future.

GGotW: Leather or lace, what is your preference?
SP: Leather, definitely. I have like leather everything - jackets, shorts, pants, skirts, corsets, chokers, booties, a hat, bags, and even a leather bikini. I love the look and feel of the material.

What have you found to be the hardest thing about modeling?
SP: Figuring out who is genuine and who is trying to take advantage of you. I've met some really great people in the industry, but I've also come across a lot of people who just try to use you for their own benefit.

GGotW: How do you stay pale in Florida?
SP: Sunscreen is a must (try to pick brands that are safe for coral)! My daily moisturizer has SPF so that helps day-to-day. If I know I'm going to be outside for more than 30 minutes, I'm religious about applying SPF 50+ to any part of my body that will be exposed to the sun. Also, if I'm going to be outside for extended periods of time I wear an oversized hat to protect my face and neck. Overall, I do my best to be prepared, but I still get burned from time to time - such is life!
GGotW: What advice can you give to other ALT models looking to start?
SP: Advice I have for any model looking to start is to prioritize your safety over anything else. Do your research and trust your instincts! And, pardon my cliche, if something seems to good to be true - it probably is.

Advice I have specifically for alt models is that the alt community is super supportive - use them as a resource! Don't be afraid to reach out to other alt models/artists for tips and tricks because, in my experience, the community has been super willing to help each other out.
GGotW: When did you start modeling?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: In February, 2018, right after I created my Instagram account.

GGotW: Why did you start?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: I have always loved gothic fashion and enjoyed creating different looks and outfits. I also wanted to have a small place in the web where I could vent my creativity. I love modelling because I can transform myself into virtually anything: I can become a vampire, a horned succubus, a witch, etc. and I love putting some fantasy into mundane everyday life.

GGotW: Who does your pictures?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: Most of them are taken by myself, using a tripod and a self-timer. My outdoor photos are taken by my boyfriend. I enjoy taking photos by myself because I can be in charge of everything; usually I have a precise vision in my mind of what result I want to achieve.

GGotW: Do you work with any brands?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: Yes, I worked with some amazing brands in the past, however, I do not have any long-term collaborations. I am very thankful for the brands that reach out to me and they want me to promote their items and I really appreciate that I have the opportunity to model for companies I have always looked up to.

GGotW: What are a few of the brands that you have worked with?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: The first brand that I've collaborated with was Killstar. I was so honoured when I got contacted by them, since I've always looked up to them and they are my favourite brand by far. So far I have also collaborated with brands like Devil Night UK, Rock n' Doll Store, Grave Reflections, Fuck It Cloth, and some more.
GGotW: What is your main influencer?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: My main influence is music. I am absolutely addicted to music, I can't live without it, my musical taste is very broad and varied. The bands that inspire me the most are Cradle of Filth (their lyrics are a masterpiece, when I listen to them I always think of gothic castles and powerful female vampires) and Type O Negative (when I listen to them I picture a misty graveyard covered in autumn leaves). As far as people are concerned, my main inspiration is British model Dani Divine. I followed her for a few years before I created my own account, I have always admired her confidence and stunning fetish style. The other one is Mahafsoun, I absolutely admire her vampiric vibe and the way she combines bellydance with metal and gothic style is truly impressive.

GGotW: What is your favorite film?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: I absolutely adore movies that could be described as a "Gothic fairy tale". These include masterpieces like "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and "The Company of Wolves". I love these titles since they are so appealing visually, they are like beautiful pictures, every little detail is well-thought out, and fits to the whole. Another favourite is "The Love Witch" from 2015. This film tackles the topic of wicca, which is among my interests. Again, the visual part is just stunning: the outfits are splendid, so is the interior design, filled with beautiful objects. I also love the message of this film: it tells women that they should not be afraid of their sexuality and femininity and embrace it and flaunt it, as it is one of their main powers.

GGotW: What is your most favored fantasy element?
<span face=""verdana" , sans-serif" style="color: #cc0000;">CC: My most favoured fantasy element are all supernatural, half-human creatures like vampires, werewolves, witches, demons, etc., because they portray both the darkest fears and desires of the human race, for example the desire to live forever, possess immense strength, control the elements, and so on.
GGotW: Everyone today is multifaceted, how do you describe yourself?
Pix: I feel like a bunch of random parts put together. Like a random roulette of skills (sewing and cooking and roller derby and tinkering with machines, etc.) put into a package that’s perceived as this one object. People tend to be surprised that I’m not a total ditz; in the world, people seem to assume there’s not a lot going on here, whether due to the tattoos or my age I don’t know.

GGotW: What forms of art do you enjoy pursuing?
Pix: I play ukulele and sing, I paint and sculpt, I sew, I write, I bake; honestly anything artistic I will try. The artsy-er the better. A lot of pages around here are covered in doodles.

GGotW: What are your struggles?
Pix: I have chronic pain and severe anxiety disorders. I have fibromyalgia and a connective tissue disorder (EDS) that means my joints and cells are super stretchy. Works really well in my job as a life model! I can find some really neat positions. It also means I’m more prone to injury and, having only had this diagnosed at adulthood, that meant a lot of my youth was spent not understanding why I hurt all the time or why life was harder than it should be.

GGotW: What gets you through the day?
Pix: I have 2 cats I love, I drink a lot of tea and smoke a lot of weed. I love art and exploring what’s out there to enjoy. Knowing that I can’t control the situation always but I can control my reaction to it drives me to live Life™️ and look for what’s out there.
GGotW: How have Canada's new marijuana laws affected you?
Pix: Laws: it’s interesting; they have made me feel more secure medicating out in the world, but it’s made my medication a lot more expensive. I’ve had a prescription for years now so it’s been a thing before it was legal. With recreational use being legal now, there are extra taxes on my medicine though. Less selection available for medicinal patients because it’s mainly going to recreational. So I’m conflicted. I’m glad it’s becoming more accepted because the alternative for pain relief is narcotics, and I’d rather avoid those side effects. Marijuana has a lot of medicinal benefits with dementia, cancer, epilepsy, etc; can you say that about tobacco or cigarettes, other similarly regulated products?
GGotW: I see you use Alien in your self-description, how do you mean that?
Pix: I don’t understand people very much. It feels like everyone resonates on a frequency, and it’s hard to find complementary people. I feel like I am truly a default “human” body (not feminine not masculine but an equal mix of both) but I haven’t been able to shake the feeling that I don’t fit in. The stars have a massive draw, too.

GGotW: Where do you see yourself in a few years?
Pix:
1: I hope to be found by a company that has the same ideals as I do and be their brand model.
2: I want to run a roller rink/bnb with every fibre of my being. I have all the details figured out, now it’s just finding an investor.
3: Just happy. I hope to be happy by then.
About 4 years ago I was going through a very tough time in my life- I’d just been diagnosed with a chronic illness and was having a lot of health issues, and I was also dealing with a bad breakup. To distract myself, I started dressing up and taking photos of my daily outfits and posting them online. I kept doing this for a little while before I realized that I was very passionate about modeling and photography. Although my first photos honestly weren’t that good, creating these images gave me confidence and I really started to see myself as beautiful. It was also at this time that I was contacted by New Rock to model for them - I remember being so excited haha. As time progressed, I started working with more brands and learning more about the actual photographic process itself - I purchased a DSLR, started learning about lighting and composition of photos, and taught myself photoshop.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">V33: So many things! While I try to remain inspired by ideas in my own head a lot of the time to try to be original, there are definitely a few artists and models that I’d love to mention. The first artist that comes to mind when people ask about my inspirations is a Polish painter named Zdzisław Beksiński. I used to study painting and drawing, and he was always my biggest inspiration then and now. I actually have a plan to get a few of his pieces tattooed :) Beksiński is known for creating creepy, dystopian surrealistic works. While a lot of Beksiński’s themes aren’t immediately present in my photography, his work is incredibly meaningful to me and has been my biggest inspiration for years. I’m also inspired by a lot of the models and artists I follow, including Mahafsoun, Threnody In Velvet, The Black Metal Barbie, Obsidian Kerttu, and many others.
<span style="color: #c27ba0; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">GGotW: What started the event Goths at the Zoo?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Megan: A combination of boredom and discussing Bats Day at Disneyland with other fellow goths online. While Disneyland is great it’s not really wallet friendly so I sat at work and thought “You know, we got a free zoo and meetup there would be great idea” and made the event. I figured only 10 people would show up at best, by the end of the day there were 72 people who hit the “going” part of the facebook event. At that point I knew it would officially be a thing.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #c27ba0; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">GGotW: How many people showed up to the first one?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Megan: The first one was kind of unofficial and an experiment. Only less than 100 made it out to that one cause it was set in July so it was horribly hot out. We did the official first one in September which reached over 100 attendees.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #c27ba0; font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">GGotW: How did the Zoo feel about it, or did they know in advance that you were doing it?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Megan: I did inform them in advance and they were pretty excited about it. The zoo staff are mostly welcoming. Some of them we can tell tolerate us because they have to but most of them are really awesome! We’ve had staff drive by on carts saying hello, complementing our outfits and asking for pictures. I think deep down some of those keepers are goths.
GGotW: What should people know if they are thinking of coming this year?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Megan: First of all, if you’ve never been, the St.Louis Zoo is honestly one of the best zoos in the U.S. It’s free, the animals are well taken care of and it’s a ton of fun! Even before this event I always tried to drag out new friends who have never been there to it because it’s always been one of my favorite places in the city. We’re also planning on having team meetups, scavenger hunts and trivia quizzes with prizes.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">On a more serious note though I want people to know who are coming that this is NOT a costume or cosplay event. The zoo has strict rules against that but we’re also not big on it either. We highly encourage people just being their true authentic selves, that’s kind of the point behind the whole thing. If you don’t really want to wear black because it’s hot DO IT! We want you to be comfortable as well.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Most clothes and boots are fine. Just no shirts with curse words on them and nothing that’ll cover the face such as goggles. As far as makeup goes the zoo prefers makeup that doesn’t change skin tone, doesn’t go above eyebrows and doesn’t cover cheeks. Lips can be any color so long as they stay on the lips.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif; font-size: large;">------------------------------------------

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">
I feel it's important to be open minded and accepting of others , as goth encompasses some diversity.
EA: Not too long ago actually! I like to think that the starting point was somewhere in November of 2018, when I did my first proper photoshoot, with the help of my boyfriend, who was my photographer. Before that, I used to write a lot on my blog about style and not only.

GGotW: Did you always model in the Goth style or did you do other modeling before that?
EA: I started off by modeling gothic clothing, but now I am slowly tipping my toes into fantasy modeling too. I believe it's a smooth kind of evolution and I'd like to experiment more!
EA: I was firstly introduced to it through Japanese Visual Kei, which is what I was listening to back in my teens. The first band I actually listened to was Diary of Dreams and I fell in love and started researching the music. I later discovered Skinny Puppy and was into industrial for a while, and somehow it evolved from music to adopting the fashion and meeting other goths. So, in short, it was the music and my lifelong obsession with vampires.
I take inspiration from fantasy costumes, but I am also a person that likes to feel comfortable, so all black, sleek looks are what I feel best in.

GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?
EA: Well, I work a full time job in a corporation, I craft a lot of the fantasy costumes that I wear, and of course, I retouch my pictures and film my YouTube videos. I'm a pretty busy girl!
I create the usual YouTube specific videos, like reviews, makeup tutorials and vlogs, but my favorite type of videos to make are conceptual artistic videos and behind the scenes ones from my photoshootings. It's always nice to use videography to translate emotions that do not pierce through with pictures!

GGotW: Do you work with any brands?
EA: I do. I was blessed with the confidence of many brands such as Punk Rave Australia, Vampfangs and E&L by Lundqvist and many more, big and small. I would mention them all if I could, because apart from the wonderful people that follow me, brands being willing to work with me, is what keeps me going and lets me know I'm on the right path. They provide the tools I need in order to create, and that's wonderful!

GGotW: What photographers do you work with?
It's a wonderful collaboration! I'd love to work with other photographers too, but there are not many who specialize in "alternative" photography here in Romania. Who knows, maybe I've not met them yet.

GGotW: I understand you edit your pictures. How did that come about?
EA: It's a long story, as most of them are. I firstly dabbled into photo editing when I was a teenager and would post my pictures on MySpace. Looking back, the results were quite frightening to behold, but it laid the foundation for what I can do today. In later years I started learning more about photo editing through online tutorials and experimenting. Now, I can say I have developed my own personal style of retouching and I love working on my pictures, trying to bring to life the vision I had inside my head. I am curious though to know how others would edit my pictures, because that has never happened yet.
TS: I could say I started modeling in 2010 when a jewelry designer from Belgrade asked me to do a photo shoot along with several other models. Since then I’ve worked with different photographers,
in studios and in the open.

GGotW: What designers have you worked with?
TS: I would like to mention Milena Grbovic and her brand Villena Viscaria Clothing. She’s a young designer and corset maker from Belgrade and most of the clothes I’m wearing in photos were designed by her. I’ve modeled for her since 2011, but ever since I started making jewelry, we’ve been working together as sort of a designer team. We’ve worked with some great models over the years and I would like to mention Obsidian Kerttu and the Gothic Wedding inspired editorial we did with her for this year’s second edition of Gothic and Amazing magazine.
TS: Many times since 2010, both as a model and a designer (in collaboration with Villena Viscaria
Clothing).

GGotW: What kinds of things do you make?
TS: It’s mainly gothic jewelry and I use all kinds of materials except actual silver, gold, etc. My shop is called Sardonyx Lace and you can find it on Etsy.com. I also have a Facebook page where you can contact me for custom orders. I make chokers, necklaces, pendants, rings, earrings and I recently
started working on some headpieces.

GGotW: What other things do you do artistically?
TS: I love to draw and I’m very interested in portraits. Unfortunately I don’t have much time to practice and I kind of feel bad about that. I haven’t given up though; I know I’ll get better at it at some point.

GGotW: Do you draw your stuff out first?
TS: Actually, I rarely do that. I usually don’t forget my own ideas or custom orders, but I do find quick sketches useful when I have to make several pieces in a short period of time (for fashion shows or photo shoots with several models). They’re always kind of messy and sometimes I change my mind during the process, so I usually throw them away once I’m done making the jewelry.

GGotW: You're a singer, what kind of stuff do you do?
TS: I’ve been in vocal training for opera singers for the last five years. Right now I’m preparing for a concert in December but besides that I’m just working on my technique. I’m a lyric coloratura soprano which basically means I can hit really high notes quite easily. In the past I’ve mostly sang in student concerts and contests and I occasionally join my friend’s band on stage.

GGotW: What is the name of your friends band?
TS: It's Lost Boys, they are a tribute band.

GGotW: What would be your favorite role as a Lyric coloratura?
TS: I can’t tell which one would be my favorite because there are so many (over 60) and I’m not even familiar with most. These are some of the roles I’ve sung so far (one aria at least): Adele (Die Fledermaus – Johann Strauss), Lisa (La Sonnambula - Bellini), Oscar (Un ballo in maschera - Verdi), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro - Mozart), Zerlina (Don Giovanni - Mozart). The one I’m looking forward to is Olympia from “The Tales of Hoffmann” by Offenbach. My voice could also be described as soprano acuto sfogato or “stratospheric coloratura soprano” which is a common name for sopranos who have an upper extension above F6.

GGotW: Does that mean you can hit and hold a note to break glass?
TS: That is a common myth. One of the ways you can break glass with sound is by hitting the exact frequency of its natural oscillation. That means it has nothing to do with high pitched sounds as much as it has to do with measuring the oscillation frequency, positioning your mouth at the right angle and distance and being loud enough. Sometimes it can happen by accident, but this
is very rare. A similar technique can be used to destroy buildings and bridges.
GGotW: When did you start modeling?

VV: I started modeling when I was 19. My best friend wanted to study photography and I was her model for portfolios. Some experienced photographers had seen her photos of me and invited me to pose for them. Soon after that I started to pose in Photoklub Zagreb, but it was just a part time job to earn some extra money during my studies. My first real engagement was in 2012 when I was acting in a commercial for an internet provider in Croatia. My face had appeared on billboards, in newspapers and magazine ads, and in a TV commercial that was banned on national television because of controversy (you can see it here). A year ago I founded DAMNmodels agency with my boyfriend and I'm one of the models there. Through the agency I work for a number of alternative brands!

GGotW: What attracts you to the gothic style?
VV: I've always been a gothic soul! When I was a kid I had seen some gothic people and was fascinated with their image, in a high school I started listening to goth music and I'm still a big fan of Clan of Xymox and Sisters of Mercy. So, gothic style is my natural choice.

GGotW: What is your connection to Gothic and Amazing Magazine?
VV: My friend somehow met the owner of G&A - Sil, and started to work with her on the magazine. Sil had some problems with her former designer so my friend recommended me to help. After the designer left the team, I took over the job of layout and design for the magazine.

GGotW: Do you only work in Croatia?
VV: I work in Croatia but many brands send me their clothes from USA, UK and around the world. Also, I'm always ready to travel anywhere if it's a good engagement! I still have not worked outside of Croatian but I'd love it soon!

GGotW: Besides modeling, what kind of art do you do?
I have a masters in graphic design so I do design. Mainly, album covers, merchandise and websites for various bands.
I'm also a photographer. I started with photography in college and I realized I love it! Today, it's my hobby but also, it's my real job. I prefer to photograph people as well as landscapes and architecture.

GGotW: If you could work outside of Croatia, where would you like to go?
VV: I like to travel and I visited a lot of countries in last few years. I like to discover some new places so I would like to go somewhere where I've never been. Also, I visited London many times but I always love to come back, so I would like to work there as well. Even I would like to find full time job in London and move there someday, but in this moment it's too complicated

VV: DAMNmodels is sill new and small agency and we have Croatian models but situation in Croatia is not good and young people are leaving, so big percent of our models are not Croatian based anymore. Our model Nika lives in Denmark, Lady MacBeth lives in Graz, Greta MaCabre moved in Shanghai few months ago and Nea Dune moved in Los Angeles. Our ex model Iskra moved to Switzerland so she left the agency. Many girls from different European countries want to be our models, but in this moment we don't have the means to provide them engagements so I it makes no sense for them to join our agency in this moment.
VV: In fact, I still didn't work for bigger clients as freelance designer. I'm working as a photographer, web and layout designer in Playboy Croatia, but Playboy is my employer, not client. As freelance designer, I worked banners for The Gothic Shop, websites, merchandise and artworks for some still unknown metal bands (but i believe they will be popular in the future) like Dienamic and Fuel For Disaster from Norway, D.Hate from Ukraine, Rising Dream, Rapid Strike, Infernal Tenebra and Avicularia from Croatia etc. I'm also working for some legendary Croatan / Ex-Yu band because my boyfriend is a music manager so I'm always in touch with bands. Once I got the chance to design a cover for compilation CD in Terrorizer Magazine (something like Fear Candy). It was "Beast from the East" compilation with eastern European bands.
VMt: I started mostly by accident. I was playing around with a friend and a bunch of costumes, and it all kind of grew out of that. A shame I lost touch with that friend. We had such fun together!
Of course, I have almost everything to thank Tajana Stasni, a great friend who asked me to model for her shop and her fashion shows!

GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?
VMt: When I'm not modeling I work in an office as a case manager. I am also attending university again. I used to study ethnology and the German language, but I switched to a different university and now I am studying computer engineering. I also love to play computer games, read, or spend time with my loved ones. I am also a columnist for the Altvenger magazine.
GGotW: Who are you favorite bands?
VMt: Oh that is a horribly difficult question! I never really think of bands in terms of favourite. I guess it mostly depends on the mood, I am an old school girl deep down, so you can always find some Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus or Siouxsie and the Banshees in my music player. I am also very fond of Sopor Aeternus, ORE, Deine Lakaien, VNV nation...and oh, Abney Park, of course!

GGotW: What photographers do you work with the most
VMt: One of my favourite photographers is Marija Buljeta, we have been working together for years now. Izidor Tachkowsky is also someone I enjoyed working with, he is always telling a story, and I enjoy being a part of it!
GGotW: What got you started modeling?
Eleine: I was just taking some pictures to make a portfolio as a singer, and several photographers mentioned that I should model more, I was very easy to photograph they said. So I made contact with a model agency and was accepted - but almost all the connection I've made with the brands I've worked with I've made myself, or thanks to the founder of Gothic and Amazing, Sil Costa, she's been an angel and supportive since the very start.

GGotW: Where are you based?
Eleine: In the south of Sweden.

GGotW: Do you ever model outside of sweden?
Eleine: I would, but thus far I've been able to do everything in Sweden, at our very own studio. So when working for brands outside Sweden they send over the items to our studio.

GGotW: Who have you modeled for?
Eleine: To mention a few; Odium Clothing, Sinister, Hysteria Machine, Forge Fashion Nocturne Jewellry, Elegant Curiosities, Fairytas, Lena Quist, Sinners & Saviours, made the cover of Scandinavian Tattoo Magazine earlier this year, and many other brands that I'm very proud of been working with.

GGotW: Speaking of Tattoos, is there a story behind the large clock?
Eleine: Yes and no. I've always loved that type of clock. It's very beautiful. My grandma owned one that she left me after she passed away and it means a lot to me. One day my tattoo artist showed me an idea she had, and when I saw that it was almost the exact same clock she had sketched, I immediately fell for it.
GGotW: When did you start your band?
Eleine: The whole idea of Eleine started about 2011/2012, but we were a complete band late 2013.

GGotW: How did you meet the members of your band?
Eleine: Rikard, our guitarist, and I met in 2012. Then we got in touch with Andreas, David and Sebastian through and old friend of mine, and we felt the last pieces took place in the puzzle.

GGotW: How would you describe your music?
Eleine: Seductive, style and monumental. This is Eleine,
including the music. Beautiful symphonic metal with dark intent.
SvP: I've been obsessed with Repo! The Genetic Opera for around about four years now. I love it aesthetically and the sound track and whole concept is amazing. The main character in the film is called Shilo and I just thought it was really cute and short and easy to remember.

GGotW: The porcelain part?
SvP: I didn't really want a "two name" name and I was really just trying to come up with something. I'm really, really pale naturally and people kept telling me I looked like a porcelain doll.

GGotW: Does your pale skin work for you, in the styles you shoot?
SvP: It does! With the Goth style, it works very well and I get a lot of compliments. With vintage, too, as it seems pale skin works well with most colors and it reminds a lot of people of Dita Von Teese, who I think is amazing. Although I think a lot of photographers I work with are silently cursing me while trying to light me--it's very difficult to not wash me out entirely. With black and white photos, I look very dramatic, too...which can be a good or a bad thing depending on what the concept is.

GGotW: How long have you been making fashion?
SvP: I've been making fashion my whole life. I made dresses for my Barbie dolls when I was a kid! It progressed into cutting up old clothes and then thrifting a lot and customizing things. Studying fashion design at school really just seemed like a logical progression for me.

GGotW: Do you have a favorite fashion style to work on?
SvP: I'm big into latex at the moment, I love the way it photographs and it's been fun teaching myself all the techniques just from online tutorials. Asides from that, my designs are usually very conceptual. I designed a collection for school based around Jack the Ripper and his victims, but had this whole feminist philosophy tied into it too, relating it to the rape culture we see today. Anything that can somehow communicate a message is interesting to me.

GGotW: What took you from designer and maker to model?
SvP: When I started going to university for fashion, for some reason most of the friends I made were in the photography department. Plus, my school is interdisciplinary so a lot of mediums would cross. Everyone was asking me to model for their projects and I realized how much I liked it. I began to feel attached to the things I shot and felt like I had an equal part in the creation of it--I began to see it as a new medium and a way to collaborate and network with other like minded people.

GGotW: What do you wear when you're not in front of the camera?
SvP: I wear a lot of the same stuff I wear for the camera! Obviously I have a lot of shoot clothes that aren't wearable--I have this amazing 1930's ballgown I just bought that is way too delicate to wear out. But I wear a lot of pencil skirts, cardigans, pretty dresses ect. I believe in dressing up. I never leave the house without my makeup fully done, either. I wear black 90% of the time. I never wear jeans and t-shirts or sweatpants with my hair in a messy bun. The thought makes me shudder!

GGotW: Coffee, tea, wine, or beer?
SvP: Tea. I'm English, so I grew up drinking a lot of tea and my family drink a lot of tea. I have a cupboard filled with it, but my favorite is honestly just PG Tips with a splash of milk. Or Teavana Youthberry tea or Harney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice. I like coffee if it's really sweetened, and a glass of wine is lovely from time to time as well. I'm not a huge beer drinker though.

GGotW: Your English, do you live in England?
SvP: No, I moved to the United States when I was nine years old. My mum married my step-dad, who is American, and we moved to California--my mum, sister, and I. I've been back a lot to visit my family and friends over there, though! I miss it alot.

GGotW: What do you enjoy about being in front of the camera?
SvP: I use it as a way to be creative. I feel like people have this misconception about modeling that it's all about being pretty and having someone else's work on display. Maybe it sounds egotistical, but I always see my work as equal parts mine as it is the photographers or the designers. It's a collaborative effort to me. Which is why my favorite shoots are the ones where I get to develop a concept--scout a cool location, browse a million vintage shops for the perfect outfit, and go crazy doing my makeup. I also really like feeling as though I have a hand in changing beauty standards. Girls nowadays are force fed so many "mainstream" photographs and are made to believe there is only one kind of beauty and if they're not six feet tall and perfect, they can't be beautiful. I want to change that. I have a lot of friends who do fit that mold who are gorgeous, but I want people to know that there's more than one kind of gorgeous and they all deserve equal representation.

GGotW: Who do you shoot with the most?
SvP: I've shot with a lot of amazing people. While I do have people I've worked with consistently, I like having a variety of styles in my portfolio. However, I do have a lot of photographer friends I can call up when I have a crazy idea and they'll always be up to shoot it. I won't name names but they probably know who they are! :)

GGotW: Do you have advice for aspiring models?
SvP: Don't feel like you have to categorize yourself. You can be realistic--for example, I'm 5'5 so I'm unlikely to ever be an agency runway model, but that doesn't mean I can't be high fashion. Don't let yourself be pressured into anything you aren't 100% comfortable with. Do what you need to do to feel comfortable, whether it's bringing a friend to a shoot or putting on some music to relax. If you're not comfortable, it will show in the pictures! And a good photographer will understand that!
ZB: About three years ago, I was asked by photographer Gore Play to model. He liked the way I looked and especially liked my creative direction when it came to setting up shoots and concepts. I had never really considered modelling but had always been interested in performing and creative arts since young. I don't actually consider myself a "model" as such. Modelling for the sake of modelling doesn't interest me. Artistic concepts intrigue me and being a part of the creation of art is what interests me and Gore Play and photographer Peter Kelly who I also have recently worked with, really understood that.

GGotW: What do you do for work?
ZB: I don't have a stable job as I'm currently pretty busy studying at university, majoring in history and literature. I run a small antiques business online, Madame Deficit Antiques and Curiosities and freelance as a costume milliner and wig maker, so I often only work when people approach me for work.

I've applied for a floristry course so I'm hoping that eventually as a florist I'll be able to have a stable job, seeing as though my uni majors are probably not going to get me a practical job any time soon!

GGotW: Where do you sell you stuff?
ZB: Mainly online so via Facebook, eBay and Gumtree. I'm finally starting to build a name for myself as a milliner and wig maker so now and then I'll have people approach me out of the blue to create something for them. I'll be moving to selling at Melbourne vintage markets soon.

My dream is eventually to have a physical store to sell my antiques, costume millinery, wigs and possibly include my floristry skills!

GGotW: Tell me about your band.
ZB: I've been involved with Ashendusk for around 8 months. We are a doom metal project which was originally started by Alister Haskell. We have 2 singers, 2 guitarists, one bass player, one keyboardist and a drummer as well as me, the cellist.

I've played classical music since I was three as my father was a classical musician so being able to play the cello in a non-typical sort of way is really great creatively (Apocalyptica has really inspired me musically!).

I've found that often people are skeptical about a cello's place in a doom metal band but we tend to explore the melancholy, romantic and beautiful side of metal, which a cello's tone is great to portray.
AW: I guess I've always been a little bit "strange", my mother is a goth (I guess that truly makes me second gen!), and also has an interest in motorbikes, so my childhood was spent in Harley Davidson T-shirts singing along to Kate Bush, my pre-teen rebellion was to like pink things and listen to The Spice Girls!
Fortunately that didn't last long, by 15 I was back in black... Where I belong!
AW: I worked in television twice, "Snog, Marry, Avoid" with Endemol productions and "Crimes Against Fashion" with Storyvault TV, and appear as a dead body in Lesbian Bed Death's video for Soul Sucker

GGotW: Where do you get most of you outfits?
AW: My wardrobe is mostly a mixture of handmade, vintage and pieces from Forever in Black.
Most of my Lolita wardrobe is handmade, Lolita brand isn't something I can justify the luxury of at the moment, and I like to make my own clothing anyway so I find fabrics at my local textile market, screen print my own or recently I found a fabric I liked that I bought from Spoonflower.

Queenie, who runs Forever in Black made all of the corsets I currently own, previously I had bought them from ebay or high street "alt" shops, those were pretty but uncomfortable and bent out of shape so quickly, but once I switched to wearing custom pieces I've never looked back!

One of them I have had for almost four years now and there's not even the slightest bend in it, and it's incredibly comfortable, I'd encourage anybody who likes the look and shape that corsets give to seek out independent corset makers rather than buying mass-produced, the quality is much better and from an ethical standpoint I like to know that children with bleeding fingers haven't been involved in making my clothes.
AW: I've been interested in hand making clothing since my mid-teens when I discovered that I just couldn't find things I liked in shops (just before the internet shopping explosion), through a series of happy accidents I ended up taking a Fashion A Level at college. The art department of the college I went to didn't really get a lot of funding so we ended up doing a lot more surrounding surface design than fashion students usually do, often on old bedsheets that someone had donated.
I ended up becoming a bit of a control freak, and just designing garments wasn't enough for me any more, I feel like I have to be involved in as much of the process as I can so that I know I will end up with something as close to how I envisioned it as I can.
I mostly work with screen print at the moment, which is something I fell in love with at University. I'm hoping to start my own business making printed clothing and accessories.
LLD: Rivethead, Industrial-Gothic- monochromatic military based aesthetics.
For modeling, I can and have temporarily adopted other variants of Gothic fashion for photo shoots such as borrowing elements from Gothic Lolita, Cyber, etc.
GGotW: You're in New Orleans, what is the Alternative culture like there?
LLD: New Orleans is well known to possess a unique vibe and culture in and of itself, lots of "different" types converge here, myself included. We have Goths,Vampires,Witches,Voodooists and more that freely interact here.
GGotW: How do you maintain your pale completion and gothic appeal in the land of sunshine and amusement parks?
SS: I can't tan. I end up burning only. Everybody is expected to be super tan especially in the sunshine state but I have a huge love for my pale skin so tanning is not even an option. I just avoid being in the sun for too long mostly. Being anything other than average or normal is very frowned upon here. I've never been one to try & please other people so I dress as I please. I do get a lot of negative opinions but I feel mine are all that truly matters.
GGotW: Is there a story behind your name, Sammii Sinvil?
SS: Actually yes. For the past few years, I went under other names but they were names I felt fit my personality & appearance. While I was using other names, I was quite a colorful person. I was always super colorful. I always had a bunch of colors in my hair at those times too. As I fell into a depression phase due to personal issues, I felt as if it was time to change the name I went by and; change my appearance. Modeling has always been my way of expressing myself so even when I was depressed, I made that my focus. That's when I stopped wearing so many colors and; started adjusting myself to match how I felt. Sammii Sinvil, I'd like to believe, is the darkest side of me.

GGotW: Even the darkest of us have things we enjoy, what is your biggest thrill?
SS: My biggest thrill has always been having needles pierce my skin. It's why I've had many piercings. Something about it is very enjoyable.

GGotW: Who got you started modeling?
SS: Before modeling, I was bullied throughout school for being not looking like or being like everybody else. I recall I been called "ugly" a bunch of times. Every time I was called things like that, I'd take my phone out & take photos & post them to remind myself, I wasn't ugly I was beautiful in a completely different way. Taking photos became my escape from all the negative & I did end up with so many photos. Later on, I ended up meeting a local photographer that saw potential in me & helped me. Through him, I met others & that kinda paved my way into modeling.
SS: So far I've worked with Greg Shepherd, Derek Wallman, David W. Scalf, Anthony &; Micheal Cuebas, Albert Dekota Sanchez & Ande Spade.

GGotW: What would you call your "DREAM" photoshoot?
SS: I'd say my dream photoshoot would be one I can bring the darkest in me out completely.
