GGotW: What do you like about dark places?
Noel: I feel a strange connection to dark places. I think they give me peace. But above all, these places inspire me.

GGotW:
What inspiration have you received from dark places?
Noel: Thanks to the local cemetery in my small town, I was able to write my first book. I also write stories, and when I feel without creativity I decide to go to some forest or some shady meadow.

GGotW: What bands are you listening to currently?
Noel: Black metal groups like Batushka, Marduk...but I also listen to instrumental gothic music like Nox Arcana or Peter Gundry and by supposed bands like The Sisters of Mercy.

GGotW:
Are you reading anything interesting currently?
Noel: Yes! I recently received the copy of the latest issue of "Witches Magazine" in which I have contributed one of my photographs, and it is an interesting read on the occult and paganism.

GGotW: Do you consider yourself a witch?
Noel: Yes, I have been practicing witchcraft for almost a decade.

GGotW: What values of witchcraft do you covet the most?
Noel: I think that something very important in witchcraft is herbology. I am a huge fan of plants. I also believe that dream spells are important. However, I am not a big fan of tarot or crystals although I would like to learn more about it.

GGotW: What object do you consider most sacred?
Noel: The skulls. It seems to me a metaphor of life and the death of a living being.

GGotW: Do you have skulls or collect skulls of any kind?
Noel: I have a small skull belonging to a rodent. I found that skull among henbane plants, in the corner of a church. Unfortunately it is the only skull I have, sometimes when I walk through the forest I try to look for a skull but at the moment I have not found another.

GGotW:
How do you say Witch in Spanish?
Noel: "Bruja."

GGotW: Do you have a lot of plants in your home?
Noel: Yes! Luckily I live in a big house with a front garden and a back garden. I have aromatic plants, flowers, roses and two trees.

GGotW: Are there many clubs/places for Goths in your part of Spain?
Noel:
Unfortunately, there are not many gothic places in Spain. There are only small clothing stores and some metal and gothic music bars in Madrid, the capital of Spain. A few years ago, there was an event called "Madrid Gothic Week" where activities such as reading gothic books, concerts, etc. were held, but that event was canceled years ago. A shame.

GGotW: You seem to photograph a lot of things other than yourself, what is your favorite subject?
Noel: My favorite subject is portraits and dark landscapes like gloomy forests or cemeteries. There is a really beautiful and eerie stillness in these places. As for portraits, I think that through photography we can see a piece of the person's soul.

GGotW: What kind of equipment do you Photograph with?
Noel: With a camera Nikon D5200.

GGotW: Do you edit your own images?
Noel: Yes!

GGotW: What is your photographic workflow?
Noel: I use two programs for editing my photos: Ipiccy and Photoshop, of course.  When I edit a photo first I correct imperfections, bad light, contrast, color temperature ... Then I let my creativity do its thing.

GGotW: What got you started as singer?
V: Music has always been an important part of my life. Since I can remember I showed a great interest in art in general. I started singing when I was really young, probably 5 or 6, it was just a hobby, something I really enjoyed doing. I’ve never thought of it as a work, but I couldn’t spend a single day without singing, it’s simply a part of my life.

GGotW: What have you accomplished as a singer?
V: I have written the lyrics for several songs and I have started to record some melodies. Right now I have two different musical projects: one on my own, and another with my boyfriend and a friend. I’m looking forward to having some free time to start recording the songs we already have and publish them. Right now I’m too busy with college assignments and modeling work!

GGotW: What are your bands called?
V: I haven’t thought of it yet. When I started my first band we spent so much time thinking about names that I had to leave it because the other members focused in every thing but music. I think a name is something that should come naturally, you can’t force it, so I’ll probably stick to my stage name until I find something that pleases me.

GGotW: Do you have a song in mp3 that we could hear?
V: No, sorry. I have a lot of home recordings but I haven’t had the opportunity to record any song in a studio yet.

GGotW: Have you done any live performances?
V: No, but I’d love to! I jump into the stage every time I have the chance to. Even though I am a very quiet person I change totally when I’m on stage.

GGotW: Where do you want to see your singing take you?
V: In an ideal world I would be on tour right now and modeling all over the world, but who knows where time will take me!

GGotW: How did you discover you had an interest in modeling?
V: Actually, by chance. When I was 11, I came across the trailer of Satanic Sluts, although it is not exactly modeling, but an alternative erotic film, it helped me discover that beautiful girls were not necessarily the ones we usually see in the covers of fashion magazines. There were alternative beauty standards which seemed a lot more interesting and creative to me. However, it wasn’t until the age of 15 when I had my first professional photo shoot, and from that moment on, I’ve been a part time model and I’ve tried to gain as much experience as I could.

GGotW: Who have you done pictures for?
V: Throughout these years I have worked with several photographers from my area. I am also starting with self-portraits because they give me the opportunity to fully express myself, but I’m still looking for photographers to collaborate with. I have a lot of projects and concepts that need to come to live! Regarding publications I have appeared in quite a few websites and magazines. I’m always looking for publications that can give me the chance to show my work to the world.

GGotW: How would you describe your personal style?
V: I think it would be impossible to describe my style in just a couple of words. I don’t like labels such as gothic, scene or cyber, nor do I fit in any of them. I prefer to take things from here and there to create my own style, which usually consist of a combination of girly things with dark elements and a little bit of fetish. I try to give my images a cute yet erotic feeling.

GGotW: Who influences you?
V: Most of my influences come from movies and music. I love old Hollywood glamour and vampire movies from the 20’s, but also the bizarre feeling and aesthetic that was so popular in the 70’s. Some musical movements that have also influenced my style are Glam Rock, Post-Punk/Goth bands from the 80’s and Dark Electro.

GGotW: What do you hope to accomplish with your modeling?
V: I’d like to start modeling for clothing brands and latex designers. In general I’m interested in everything related to fashion, from Haute Couture to bands’ merchandise. I also have a long list of photographers and models I’d love to collaborate with if I had the chance to. I am a big fan of MichellexStar Photography and Mosh modeling so working with them would be like a dream come true.

GGotW: You are not the first Goth model on GGotW from Espaina, is there a large Gothic crowd in Spain?
AN: I'm not considered a Goth, because I love a lot of music styles and aesthetics, like metal, punk, afterpunk, noise, blues... etc. When I was 14 years old, and started to get into alternative things, we were very few. Now things have changed, the alternative movement emerging like it did in the 80's.

GGotW: Your a clothing designer. What do you design?
I design lingerie, corsetry and latex costumes. All the clothes I wear on stage are designed and created by me.

GGotW: Are you wearing any of you designs in your shoots?
AN: Not yet, now I'm working on my first lingerie collection. At the moment I'm currently only working for stylist.

GGotW: When you do photo shots, are the photographers coming to you or are you traveling?
AN: Depends, I have worked with several photographers from Barcelona, sometimes (but rarely) I had to travel, my problem is that I haven't much time, I have to combine the dance, photo shoots and design, sometimes It's really crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!

GGotW: What photographers have you worked with?
AN: I shot with a lot of Spanish photographers (Tentesion, Yasmina Moya, Polymer Boy, Claude Guerra, Darkmoon & Blackwolf Studio...) and I've worked with a few French and Italian photographers too. Now I'm working a lot with Lolo Font (one of my favorites photographers from Spain) and I'm work at Raw Estudio like a workshop model and stylist.

GGotW: What keeps you going?
AN: Dancing!!!! Modeling is more relaxing than dance!

GGotW: What came first dance, or modeling?
AN: I started dance classes four years ago, and I start acting about two years ago, and I started to modeling almost parallel.
But dance has always present in my life.

GGotW: What do you spend the most amount of time doing?
AN: I need to try to dance at least four or five hours a day. It's a really sacrifice!

GGotW: Where do you perform?
AN: I have been dancing at a vintage club in Barcelona, called Minusa, and at several festivals in Barcelona, but last year I had a knee injury and I turned away from the stage. Now I have some new shows!

GGotW: I understand you also do Burlesque, can you describe your act?
AN: Sometimes I perform an antique striptease like 20's to 40's, sometimes even I perform a Victorian striptease, but normally I combine the Belly-dance and the 1990's exotic dances with the classic Burlesque. My references are Mata Hari, Tórtola Valencia and film characters like Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra.
I combine several elements like the veils, swords, daggers or candles.

GGotW:
When did you start modeling?
G: I started fashion modeling when I was 10 years old. And 2 years ago the idea of alternative modeling came to me, but I had my doubts about it because it was pretty unknown here in Spain. I've only started 1 year ago.

GGotW: Why did you start modeling?
G: My mother took me to an agency called InterStyle Models.

GGotW: What kind of modeling were you doing before the Alt modeling?
G: I was a fashion model since I was 10.

GGotW: As a Fashion model, did you get to tour around?
G: I did some catwalks in my home town, and when I moved to Barcelona an agency hired me.

GGotW: Where did you travel?
G: I have traveled through entire Europe, but not because of modeling. I simply love traveling and learning about other cultures.

GGotW: What photographers have you worked with?
G: I've worked with many photographers, some names I remember: Marco Antonio Marin, Daniel Berlanga, Alfonso Ruíz...

GGotW: What attracted you to Alt modeling?
G: My style is alternative, so I wanted to try doing the kind of modeling I liked.

GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?
G: I study Tourism, learn new languages, go out with my friends, go shopping, etc.

GGotW: You speak about seven languages, what do you plan to do with your talents?
G: I'm a Tourism student, tourism and languages are my true vocation. My main plan is to become a great business woman in the Tourism Industry.

GGotW: Spain, where you are from, always seems to be portrayed as sunny and warm place.
Rifká:
How does a Goth survive in such a climate?
In winter it can be really cold! and in summer I just keep the boots and the black clothing, but I wear short pants and skirts, and strap shirts.

GGotW: What is the story behind the name Rifká?
Rifká: I was at a conference given by a Jewish ex-spy and I asked his wife the meaning of my name Rebeca. She couldn't translate it, but she told me the original pronunciation was Rifká (Reb-kah, literally).

GGotW: How did you get started modeling?
Rifká: I liked modeling, but I didn't like the average clothing and styles. I discovered Lady Angellyca (forever slave) and then I found out alternative models existed. I booked a shoot and then I made my portfolio to start modeling.

GGotW: Who have you modeled for?
Rifká: I am in several websites and I have worked with some photographers. But I have modeled for Miss Selfdestructive's alternative clothing, for the metal band Fifth Wound, I was the first featured model in Antipretty and I was last year walking on the Goth Week of Madrid's parade, going to repeat this year also.

GGotW: Is there a lot of call for Alt modeling in Spain?
Rifká: Not really. There are photographers who like some dark images for their portfolios and also some goths who like taking photo shoots just for fun. But Alt models are few.

GGotW: What is the Metal scene in Madrid like?
Rifká: There are not lots of metal fans in general, but there are certain places where you can find an interesting metal community here. They usually hang out in Bajos de Argüelles and they meet at lot in concerts and metal pubs.

GGotW: What is Bajos de Argüelles?
Rifká: Bajos de Argüelles is a big concentration of rock and metal pubs in Madrid.
