GGotW: When did you start modeling?
Eleine: In 2012.

GGotW: What got you started modeling?
Eleine: I was just taking some pictures to make a portfolio as a singer, and several photographers mentioned that I should model more, I was very easy to photograph they said. So I made contact with a model agency and was accepted - but almost all the connection I've made with the brands I've worked with I've made myself, or thanks to the founder of Gothic and Amazing, Sil Costa, she's been an angel and supportive since the very start.

GGotW: Where are you based?
Eleine: In the south of Sweden.

GGotW: Do you ever model outside of sweden?
Eleine: I would, but thus far I've been able to do everything in Sweden, at our very own studio. So when working for brands outside Sweden they send over the items to our studio.

GGotW: Who have you modeled for?
Eleine: To mention a few; Odium Clothing, Sinister, Hysteria Machine, Forge Fashion Nocturne Jewellry, Elegant Curiosities, Fairytas, Lena Quist, Sinners & Saviours, made the cover of Scandinavian Tattoo Magazine earlier this year, and many other brands that I'm very proud of been working with.

GGotW: Speaking of Tattoos, is there a story behind the large clock?
Eleine: Yes and no. I've always loved that type of clock. It's very beautiful. My grandma owned one that she left me after she passed away and it means a lot to me. One day my tattoo artist showed me an idea she had, and when I saw that it was almost the exact same clock she had sketched, I immediately fell for it.

GGotW: When did you start your band?
Eleine: The whole idea of Eleine started about 2011/2012, but we were a complete band late 2013.

GGotW: How did you meet the members of your band?
Eleine: Rikard, our guitarist, and I met in 2012. Then we got in touch with Andreas, David and Sebastian through and old friend of mine, and we felt the last pieces took place in the puzzle.

GGotW: How would you describe your music?
Eleine: Seductive, style and monumental. This is Eleine,
including the music. Beautiful symphonic metal with dark intent.

GGotW: How many Albums have you released?
Eleine: One! Our first album "ELEINE" was released April 18th.
Before that we released two singles, "Gathering Storm" and "Land Beyond Sanity".

GGotW: Who does the writing for the band?
Eleine: For our first album Rikard and I with a producer from Cardiac Records wrote the music together. Now, Rikard and I do the main part of writing. Never excluding anybody, all good ideas are welcome.

GGotW: Any plans for the band to tour?
Eleine: We're working on the tour plan right now.

GGotW: Rikard seems to be a talented photographer, did you meet him as a photographer first or a guitarist?
Eleine: Yes he his! But we met because of the music at first. The photography skills showed up later on and I'm very happy about that! He snaps the shots and I edit the photos. We make a good team!

GGotW: What prompted you to go solo after a career as a frontwoman?
LC: It was time. I was already writing songs for my debut and they clearly weren't anything like what I was already doing. I wanted to explore my autonomy. You can't do that when you're in a band, at least not entirely.

GGotW: What inspires your songwriting?
LC: Everything. The world is a pretty fascinating place to me.

GGotW: What got you started musically?
LC: It's what I've always done, ever since I was a little baby girl. Maybe it started in the womb, who knows? Possibly even before that.

GGotW: Were your parents musical?
LC: My grandfather on my mom's side was a saxophone player. My mom is tone deaf but she can sing, albeit off key. She's got great vibrato. When I was little we used to sit on the porch and she would be like "Okay Kari, (Karina is my middle name) let me hear you 'swing' ". That meant she wanted me to end every line in a song with Vibrato. Other than that, people aren't musical in my family. My bio dad was, but he doesn't count.

GGotW: Any thoughts of a tour? Canada maybe?
LC: I would love to tour! I love traveling & waking up in a different city each day. I miss it. I'd love to perform all over Canada! Have your people call my people

GGotW: What fascinates you the most right now?
LC: People watching. I do that a lot. I like to watch people interacting with one another. It's like watching a silent movie. It's fun to guess what's going on based on their body language. I don't have a tv so that's my substitute

GGotW: Where do you see you and your career in five to six years?
LC: I see myself out of America  overseas a lot, performing in some of the worlds highly mystical places.

GGotW: When you're in the studio, are you the kind to lay down tracks quick, because you do a lot of prep, and get out? Or do you take your time and make absolutely sure they're 100% perfect before leaving?
LC: The latter, for sure. I don't do much prep before the studio. There's a huge part of me that approaches life by 'winging it'. I feel like I'm doing myself a disservice by calculating too much so i just set the intention and let the Universe unfold the path for me. A tiny bit of prep and mostly magic & serendipity. That's how I work best :-)

GGotW: What got you started as singer?

V: Music has always been an important part of my life. Since I can remember I showed a great interest in art in general. I started singing when I was really young, probably 5 or 6, it was just a hobby, something I really enjoyed doing. I’ve never thought of it as a work, but I couldn’t spend a single day without singing, it’s simply a part of my life.

GGotW: What have you accomplished as a singer?
V: I have written the lyrics for several songs and I have started to record some melodies. Right now I have two different musical projects: one on my own, and another with my boyfriend and a friend. I’m looking forward to having some free time to start recording the songs we already have and publish them. Right now I’m too busy with college assignments and modeling work!

GGotW: What are your bands called?
V: I haven’t thought of it yet. When I started my first band we spent so much time thinking about names that I had to leave it because the other members focused in every thing but music. I think a name is something that should come naturally, you can’t force it, so I’ll probably stick to my stage name until I find something that pleases me.

GGotW: Do you have a song in mp3 that we could hear?
V: No, sorry. I have a lot of home recordings but I haven’t had the opportunity to record any song in a studio yet.

GGotW: Have you done any live performances?
V: No, but I’d love to! I jump into the stage every time I have the chance to. Even though I am a very quiet person I change totally when I’m on stage.

GGotW: Where do you want to see your singing take you?
V: In an ideal world I would be on tour right now and modeling all over the world, but who knows where time will take me!

GGotW: How did you discover you had an interest in modeling?
V: Actually, by chance. When I was 11, I came across the trailer of Satanic Sluts, although it is not exactly modeling, but an alternative erotic film, it helped me discover that beautiful girls were not necessarily the ones we usually see in the covers of fashion magazines. There were alternative beauty standards which seemed a lot more interesting and creative to me. However, it wasn’t until the age of 15 when I had my first professional photo shoot, and from that moment on, I’ve been a part time model and I’ve tried to gain as much experience as I could.

GGotW: Who have you done pictures for?
V: Throughout these years I have worked with several photographers from my area. I am also starting with self-portraits because they give me the opportunity to fully express myself, but I’m still looking for photographers to collaborate with. I have a lot of projects and concepts that need to come to live! Regarding publications I have appeared in quite a few websites and magazines. I’m always looking for publications that can give me the chance to show my work to the world.

GGotW: How would you describe your personal style?
V: I think it would be impossible to describe my style in just a couple of words. I don’t like labels such as gothic, scene or cyber, nor do I fit in any of them. I prefer to take things from here and there to create my own style, which usually consist of a combination of girly things with dark elements and a little bit of fetish. I try to give my images a cute yet erotic feeling.

GGotW: Who influences you?
V: Most of my influences come from movies and music. I love old Hollywood glamour and vampire movies from the 20’s, but also the bizarre feeling and aesthetic that was so popular in the 70’s. Some musical movements that have also influenced my style are Glam Rock, Post-Punk/Goth bands from the 80’s and Dark Electro.

GGotW: What do you hope to accomplish with your modeling?
V: I’d like to start modeling for clothing brands and latex designers. In general I’m interested in everything related to fashion, from Haute Couture to bands’ merchandise. I also have a long list of photographers and models I’d love to collaborate with if I had the chance to. I am a big fan of MichellexStar Photography and Mosh modeling so working with them would be like a dream come true.

GGotW: You're the lead vocalist for Scream Machine, how did that come about?
SDM: Scream Machine is actually my music project. I started it a few years ago with my husband, so technically we are more of a duo, I guess. A few years ago, my husband's younger brother was killed in a drive-by shooting type of situation and my husband was totally crushed by it. I'm not exactly Ms. Supportive but I wanted to do something to try and ease his pain or show him I was there for him. I wrote a song called "R.I.P." for him, in memory of his brother. More songs followed and Scream Machine came to be. We've gotten some attention over the past few years and we are about to release our 4th album but in the end, it's always been and always will be me writing songs for my husband. And him writing songs for me.

GGotW: How long have you been singing?
SDM: Oh, God, years. Ever since I was a little, little kid. I can remember singing along to Whitney Houston in the back of the car when I was like 5 or 6. I'd probably rather sing than do anything else in the world. Nothing makes me feel better faster, nothing makes me happier. My vocal style ranges from Mariah Carey to Phil Anselmo from Pantera and to MANY in-between.

GGotW: When is this fourth album due out?
SDM: Our fourth full-length album is Electrowitch and it will be out on Friday the 13th, August 2010. We always try to put albums out on dates that are somewhat special or notorious.

GGotW: What kind of stuff can we expect on Electrowitch?
SDM: Electrowitch is definitely more topically varied than some of our previous albums. Our previous release, Addicted To The Whip was mostly about S&M activities, the BDSM lifestyle and that kind of thing. Electrowitch has much more varied subject matter, including The Holocaust, Lilith [Adam's first wife & the original succubus], necrophilia, political uprising and being lost in the woods alone at night. You can expect heavy synths, crashing drums, industrial noises and my own creepy vocals. We fuse a lot of different influences together and many reviewers have remarked on the fact that no two songs really sound the same. "Each track is an original." That is my favorite compliment.

GGotW: Any plans currently for a fifth album?
SDM: Absolutely. Lol, It's already pretty much done. Sometimes I just get into a frenzy of songwriting and that is what happened recently. I have written like 20 songs in the past month. Most will end up on the next album. Once I catch up on my sleep, that is.

GGotW: Any shows planned?
SDM: Right now we have like, no time for live shows, though we have been invited to play all over the place. We really hope our schedules calm down and we can fit some live stuff in. That is where you really connect with people.

GGotW: What led you to modeling?
SDM: People saying I'm photogenic, lol.

GGotW: What do you enjoy about modeling?
SDM: I really like seeing an idea or concept translated into some type of tangible media, whatever it is. If it's film, if it's graphic art, if it's "traditional" art, using paints or charcoal or whatever, if it's music or photography... I just like seeing ideas actualized.

GGotW: What has been your funnest shoot?
SDM: Probably the one I did for the photo-set "Witch." It was originally intended for a very-well known nude alternative modeling site I was asked to submit a set to (I changed my mind and did not submit them after reading the contract). My husband actually shot those photos and let's just say after the shoot it got very interesting. THOSE pictures are private, lol.

GGotW: What would you like to shoot next?
SDM: It's almost cliche but I'd really like to do something in a graveyard. Black and white, high-resolution. Very goth-macabre.

GGotW: What do you do, when you're not making music?
SDM: Lol. I take care of kids all day. How's that for your peace of mind?
