GGotW: What is the story behind your name?
DBR: Dori is my nickname way back from high school that just seemed to stick and Bot's is short for robot, I work too much and barely have any rest so it makes sence.

GGotW: How do you describe your style?
DBR: I've come to realize that my style is very moody, and since I love some many different styles and looks, one day I could be going for more of an industrial look and the next day something more vintage inspired. Club wear takes up a large percentage of my closet so you'll see a lot of it in my shoots, but besides all the shiny material I have a love with frilly girl things like lace, velvet you know! I'm super girly.

GGotW: What types do you like to shoot?
DBR: I love shooting for designer, I looooove clothes not boring every days stuff though. I've been in love with latex clothing lately and I'm hoping to do more with that, especially since I go-go for fetish based parties. I'm able to do my own makeup and hair and figuring out an outfit but if a photographer *cough cough* doesn't have any idea what to shoot and tells me just bring 5-6 with a concept that so open ending I don't even know where to begin! i.e. I hate the word edgy.

GGotW: What is it about the word edgy that you dislike?
DBR: The word edgy is just so board, what the heck does anyone mean by saying it?! Its really un-descriptive. I hate photographers when they use that word then I ask what do they mean by that and they can't explain! Maybe its means something not boring or normal and if it is that I'm definitely not your typical American girl-next-door type!

GGotW: What do you suggest as an alternative?
DBR: What does the mainstream public think of normal? Whats not normal to them is alternative. I personally think I'm pretty normal the mainstream people are just boring!

GGotW: How long have you shot?
DBR: Just a little over a year.

GGotW: What got you started?
DBR: Really, Catwalk Tragedy 4 in Philly did, the event pissed me off so much I just wanted to show everyone up. See, I didn't make it to the 2nd round. hahaha no one remembers me for being in that event. I was also in the Catwalk Tragedy NYC this year which was fun until I got a horrible caffeine headache that was pounding my brain to a pulp so I had to leave right after the second round.

GGotW: Who have you shot for?
DBR: I've shot with a lot of photographers but I have my favorites like Candylust, Studio 206, Art-i-Ficial, Rana X, Jennifer Link. They're all amazing!

GGotW: What designers have hired you?
DBR: Tatterdemalion Designs, Dementia Clothing, KvoDesign / Confession NY, Timeless Trends, Spiral Stitching are just some I've done shoots for there's also a lot of runway I've done.

GGotW: What was your experience at Snap'm like?
DBR: Its a networking party, for models, photographers, MUA, hair stylist etc. to meet one another located in New Jersey. I've meet some really awesome models though that event as well as photographer who still have yet to book with but there's an overwhelming amount of GWC who will always take a terrible photos of you.

GGotW: What are you reading?
DBR: I should be reading a book but I can't get myself away from reading Bizzare Magazine its the shit! I wish the magazine was based in the US, I would love to work for them. I'm also a fan of Auxiliary Magazine and Coilhouse.

GGotW: What do you do when you are not modeling?
DBR: Its more like when I'm not working at my day job or I'm in class, I'm modeling. When I'm not modeling or working I'm out dancing at clubs, hanging out my friends, and painting.

GGotW: What are you studying?
DBR: I'm studying graphic design, I'm still questioning if its for me or not and if I should have stayed with my fine arts major. Either way its a new skill that no everyone knows that pays really well.

GGotW: Has Transylvania, your new home, been accepting to your style?
RC: I'm going to have to say not really. Though 3 out of 4 people ignore it and go about their business the majority still tend to drop their jaws when they see my face full of jewelry and colored hair (and that's when I am not dressed up). I think circumstances would be a lot different if we were to be in a car than walking on the street.


GGotW: Do you find many opportunities to model in Romania, or do you have to travel to work?
RC: I have found a few decent photographers here in Romania, but I do still have to travel about three to six hours just to shoot with them. It has become exasperating so I plan to get my own SLR Camera.


GGotW: What has been the hardest part of your move to Europe?
RC: The hardest part so far was leaving all my things behind. Of course I miss my family and friends too but I am dying to get my shoes and clothing!


GGotW: Are there things that you miss about your home in the US?
RC: I miss dressing up and going to clubs, parties, and events, and I really miss the convenient 24 hour stores like Wal-Mart, I prefer to avoid shopping around people as much as possible and it was really nice to do my shopping at 3 am when most of the world was asleep. Everything closes here so early and is hardly even open on the weekends; this really creates crowded shopping spaces.


GGotW: What has been your favorite shoot to date?
RC: I have a few favorite shoots, I really like the ones I have done with Joe Traina at The Castle because that kinda used to be my stomping ground and I always love Joe's work. I also liked working with Mojokiss, he is spectacular photographer and uses awesome lighting skills, and his photography is unique and always stands out. I also love the set that Kamilia did of me with the violin.

GGotW: What would you like to shoot that you haven't?
RC: I still have a lot of ideas in mind for shoots, once summer comes rolling around the weather warms up a bit I have a set planned using a Long Nose Venetian Mask. I have always been interested in doing a mask shoot because a lot of my sets focus a lot on my make up but using a mask will be a much different approach than I am used to and in some ways more artsy.

GGotW: How old are you?

Alina: I am nineteen years old.



GGotW: How long have you modeled?

Alina: Earlier I worked in for a model management, but I can't really call it a job. They didn't give me any useful experience, and I had to do some things that weren't interesting to me at all. After one year of working there I left them, as I got keen on dancing. In fetish and Gothic style I have worked for 1 year approximately.



GGotW: What started you modeling?

Alina: I've always been searching for something bright and unusual.

I tried myself in singing, journalism, worked as a gogo-dancer and studied in an actor faculty.

I always felt like I was missing something important, and had a great shortage of showing my worth, and I knew that I had to try something else.

One day I saw pictures of Dita Von Teese in the web, and she inspired me a lot. I understood that I had to unite my sexuality, that was growing from day to day, gothic style, that I really had passion for, and fetishness, cause I always was really crazy about all these amazing corsets, sensual stockings and brilliant latex outfits.

GGotW: Some of your images show you in corsets. Are you into corsetry?

Alina: Yes, and corsets are my passion really! In fact, I began modeling because of them... I always had a soft spot for woman's shapes, tighten into corsets, and my first shoot was in corset too. I find a special delight in feeling stretch tighten and a special beauty in changed forms - I love extreme corsets, when your waist is so narrow that looks like something cosmic. I can tighten myself up to 48-49 cm. I began wearing corsets when I was 16.



GGotW: What is the best modeling job you've gotten so far?

Alina: I've worked for our First Alternative TV, took part in 3 videos of Russian Gothic and industrial bands, and was featured in several mags... But now I've chosen my 2 favorite photographers and we're preparing some special content for my personal site, and I can say, I feel so free, I create all the plots of the shoots myself. I feel great pleasure, cause I know that every one of my ideas can come true!! I really love these people and adore their professionalism, so I enjoy every minute of our work



GGotW: What is the Moscow Gothic scene like?

Alina: Well, our Gothic scene is much more developed than the Fetish scene. We've got a lot of Gothic parties and gigs, and this style was VERY popular in our country some years ago. It was really very sad to see that Moscow turned into Baby Goth's city, and they perverted Gothic aesthetic a lot these days... Our cemetery's couldn't bear their terrifying attacks, a lot of graves were ruined, and all these things were done under cover of "Gothic style". However, it's nice to see that nowadays everything returned to its places and this horrible chapter of "Gothic style" has gone away.



GGotW: What would you like to see happen with the Moscow Goth community?

Alina: Frankly speaking, I think, that everything is OK. We have Gothic mags, gigs, parties, famous characters, and I'm happy that the bad Gothic influence has left us and now the subculture is mostly true.



GGotW: What part are you playing in the development of Russia's Fetish/Gothic industry?

Alina: I'm one of the first Russian models. Even 4 years ago it was rare for people to know what "fetish" meant. Now sometimes it is really very hard to prove that if I'm wearing latex outfits for example - it doesn't mean that I'm a terrible pervert, satanist, and eat kittens. Russian people have got a lot of awful stereotypes, and I think that we need some years to break them. I do my best to improve their opinion and to show that fetish and Gothic style can be very beautiful, sexy and even elegant. I really enjoy being in the scene, and to have straight contact with the public, to see their reaction, and I decided that the time has come for the first Russian fetish-show. I had no problems in finding suitable girls, and I'm proud to say that this summer Perish visited Moscow and we did 2 performances together.



GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?

Alina: I'm a usual girl. I eat, sleep, go to university, visit parties and gigs, and need love and care, as any other girl. Not everything in my life goes well, sometimes I have unlucky periods, sometimes people break my heart, sometimes another's envy ruins my plans, but I try to find power to go further and to overcome the difficulties.

When I have free time, I prefer going to theatres and reading classical literature. I adore Russian classics.

GGotW: What got you into modeling?
A: I was always told that I was beautiful when I was little, even by strangers, I've grown up knowing that my looks would get me somewhere.

GGotW: How have you enjoyed the experience?
A: So far, it's been a little hard getting the ball really rolling, but yes, the experience that I have had I had thoroughly enjoyed.

GGotW: What's been the best experience?
A: Probably the best experience was winning Richmond's top model for the month of October in 2007, that was pretty sweet.

GGotW: What do you hope is in your future?
A: Money, meeting awesome people and above all- true happiness.

GGotW: You haven't done much Goth modeling, but you say you want to, why?
A: The reason I have not done much, is because I can' find any photographers who will do that type unless I get naked. I like the idea of redefining beauty. There are more beautiful girls out there than the typical blond haired blue eyed cheerleader....and they're so common, they're not sexy, they're not intriguing, they're not exotic.

GGotW: What do you like about Goth?
A: I like the fact that Goth is a culture. A lot of people think that it's just music or a style of dress, but it is so much more, plus goth chicks are way hotter than any other chicks.
GGotW: When your not modeling what keeps you busy?
A: I go to VCU full time, and I work at Sherwin Williams (paint).

GGotW: What about when your not in school or at work?
A: I write poetry, and listen to music; all genres hip-hop, industrial, rap, metal, techno, punk and some pop...mostly industrial though, I love Combichrist. GGotW: Can you give us a sample of your poerty?
A: Yes. most of my poetry is untitled, because i prefer to allow the reader to paint an image in their mind as to what they believe the poem to be about rather than to have a preconceived notion, however, this one I could not help but title,

Abstract Communication

My ears receive your voice-
Sound waves are transferred to my mind,
They spark an electric impulse which should be converted into comprehensive thought,
But it remains only a picture,
Locked in my mind, for no one else to see
Behind a wall of isolation
Causing a lack of communication
Which overcomes the forces of attraction.
The bond which once existed is broken by the chaotic energy
Created by the frantic behavior of every molecule in my brain.
The only words my mouth can muster are confused fragments.
As i struggle to convey emotion
The frustration increases,
Both yours and mine.
If only i could destroy this barrier-
take a scalpel and some stitches, correct the neuron pathway.
Perhaps there's a way to transfer all of my brain activity onto a reel of film,
materialize the inner working of my mind and play them out on a screen.
Pour some asphalt on this rocky terrain,
Make the drops in this roller coaster a little less steep.
Don't blame yourself,
It only makes me feel less human.
Stop screaming,
This wall isn't soundproof
And if it were physical, i'd smash my fist right through it

GGotW: How long have you been modeling?
L: Since I was little, my mother used to bring me to photoshoots.

GGotW: Is your mother a model or a photographer? Have you appeared in any shoot with her?
L: My mother was a model and a singer, so yes when I was about 7 years old we also had mother/daughter advertising shoots for magazines, like selling perfume haha..

How do you define your style?
L: Victorian and gothic lolita

What got you started in the Gothic Lolita style?
L: A few years back I saw it on the internet, at that moment I dressed alternative and goth and I fell in love with the pretty more colorful lolita style.

Can you explain to our readers a little about the Gothic Lolita style? What defines it?
L: Gothic lolita is inspired on the Victorian era, with the petticoats and female shapes, at the waist.
Also all the ruffles and nice lace makes it lolita.
It is all about quality clothings and looking and feeling beautiful.
But there are rules! Like skirt that are shorter then just above the knee, lolita should be about prettyness, not sexy in anyway. To much skin showing is not done.

Where do you live?
L: The Netherlands

What got you started in modeling?
L: I started again to show of the clothing style I love: Gothic lolita

What is your favorite image to date?
L: from my self? It would be (The image to the left) I love nature ;)

What advice would you give to someone who wishes to follow in you footsteps?
L: Dress they way you love so you really can be you're self in the shoots, photographers will appreciate that!
