GGotW: How did you get started as a model?
E: I was invited to my first photoshoot back in 2007. I was always collecting weird stuff in fetish, gothic, cyber style, so I had a lot of clothes. I was invited by a group of photographers, who were interested in gothic and fetish models. It was something new for me, as I always had passion for PVC and latex, but had no experience as a model. Now I can say it wasn't very successful, but it was fine as first photoshoot. I'm attaching few 'behind the scene' photos.



GGotW:What convinced you this was something that you wanted to continue doing?
E: After some time, I was invited in studio, for music photoshoot with guitar. I created different images, so that photoshoot was more sucessful than the first one. I continued collecting unusual items, and I realized it was really helpful in that domain. I was involved in new photoshoots. I got a strong feeling it was perfect for me - It gave me the possibility to express myself.

GGotW:You'd done some fetish images, what are your fetishes?
E: I have fetish for latex, tight corsets, gloves, stockings, high heels (actually, I don't even wear some of my shoes - it is enough to own them!), and a special fetish for contact lenses.

GGotW:What do you do when you're not modeling?
E: I used to work as graphic designer, but working full day was not my style, so after a few years, I quit, and started working as freelancer. Now, when I'm not modelling, I mostly create some vector illustations for sale, and write articles and news about art. I like to read, literature is important part of my life.

GGotW:What keeps you grounded?
E: I'm always open to something new, I'm flexible, and try my best to create an image, and to keep it in style. Very often, people don't believe it is the same person on all photos. I take it serious, and often create some accessories for specific photoshoot. I offer my point of view on an idea, and try to improve it, or to bring something new. I think it keeps me grounded.

GGotW:Do you travel a lot in Europe for modeling?
E: Due to some circumstances, I don't travel a lot for modeling. Mainly, I work with my husband, who is a professional photographer - he knows what I want, and he can easily understand my ideas. Also, I help him to bring to life his ideas. I started creating some weird make-up just for fun, and I know that I'll be able to capture it in case it looks like I want. I get some order from abroad, and receive stock from stores. They receive pictures they want, at the moment, it is very comfortable for me.
Now, I have a big collection of corsets, latex stuff, high heels, wigs, contact lenses, cosmetics, and other accessories, to use in my projects.

GGotW: When did you first become interested in the Gothic style?

YM: I first became interested in the Gothic style with about 14 years. I had this sort of insatiable desire to find out who I am. Since I can think I had been fascinated by morbid things and 'dark' aspects in art and styling, which inevitably led me to the Gothic scene someday.

GGotW: Did you dive into it yourself, right away?

YM: Mainly I did, yes, although I cost me a lot of arguments with Mum and Dad :) But now, they accept it pretty well and see that this is me. *laughs*

GGotW: When did you start modeling?

YM: I had my first photo shoot just for fun in summer 2009 with an acquaintance of mine. Doing photo shoots earliest became a hobby in April 2010, where I had my first rather professional and more planned model shoot. But I usually do not think of myself as being a model until October 2010, when I became more active with living out my ideas in sets and scenery and where photo shoots became not only a hobby, but a passion.

GGotW: What photographers have you worked with?

YM: I have worked with photographers like Andi Bell, Michael Kueper and Moritz Maibaum, and also Catherine Lee Mason and some more :)

GGotW: What styles do you like to wear?

YM: I like a lot of different styles and aspects of Styling, I mainly prefer the fetish style with lots of patent, PVC and latex, classical Gothic styling and parts of cyber-styling. But also Burlesque styles fascinate me a lot.

GGotW: What do you do when you are not modeling?

YM: Besides modeling, making my own clothes, accessories and hairfalls is one of my greatest passions. I like to be creative, I occasionally also draw and paint. I like meeting my friends and going out clubbing all dolled up, but there are other days where I rather prefer staying at home reading a good book.

GGotW: What has been you best experience as a model?
YM: I think that would be definitely meeting Andi Bell for working with him for the first time. I was very surprised he was interested in working with such a "newbie" like me, as he has been shooting with other, more experienced models as me. I was very excited and nervous but also very pleased how well it went actually - it was a good feeling to get this confirmation that I got somewhat of a talent for it.

GGotW: What would your ultimate photoshoot involve?
YM: Lots and lots of different costumes (preferably self-made), make-up craziness, creative ideas and a good laugh, things to talk about besides the actual shooting stuff - well, I think every photo shoot I did so far had been a sort of ultimate one, because I was lucky to work with such interesting and nice photographers.

GGotW: How do you prepare for a photoshoot?
YM: I often sew/make my outfits and accessories myself, and invent/practice new make-up, ideas that have been spinning in my head.
Mainly this is all of the preparation I do, because I think the rest often comes whilst shooting - a bit of spontaneity is important, maybe even more as a good planning.

GGotW: We loved the pics you sent. What photographers have you worked with?
VA: Thank you! I have worked with several top notch photographers- some of my favorites have been Soul of View Photography and James King Photography, both Atlanta-based. Valerie Photogoddess, Soft Focus Imagining, and Bejamin Linden, who are all Denver area-based, are some other favorites.

GGotW: Have you modeled any clothing lines?
VA: I have done some fashion show modeling, such as at DomCon, but so far no print or internet work. I hope to change that some day!

GGotW: You make clothes? Is there somewhere that people can buy them?
VA: Not yet. A lot of what I make clothing-wise is for myself or friends. I would love to start my own line though. People can buy synthetic dreads and other hairpieces from me, however, by contacting me through Myspace- I am getting ready to make a folder of available stock, and eventually, a seperate page.

GGotW: Where have you worked as a fetish performer?
VA: I started as a member of the Seduction Troupe in Jacksonville, FL. I then moved around the country for several years, doing shows in Louisville, Indianapolis, Denver, Colorado Springs, and Atlanta. I have done several shows for my friend Jsin, who runs Secretroom.net- he does parties for large events such as Skin Two and Fetishcon.

GGotW: What got you started as a model?
VA: I actually started doing Domme work first- I needed pictures for my websites. I enjoyed making new images so much that I continued doing it separate from Domme work.

GGotW: What got you started as a Dom?
VA: I went to Fetishcon in Tampa several years ago. I was only about 18, and it really opened my eyes- it was such an experience! I met some pro Dommes there and began doing my own work.

GGotW: Are you not Dominatrixing anymore?
VA: I have taken a bit of a break. I am still taking clients in the Raleigh area, but I stopped doing it full time so I could go to school.

GGotW: You say your boyfriend is in a band, what band?
VA: My boyfriend Halo is curently in Voodoo Velkro. They are getting ready to go on tour with Psyclon 9 and Imperative Reaction very soon, so keep a look-out; they may be in your neighborhood soon. He also does work with Skabdriver, but many of the two band's members are mutual, so Skabdriver is on a bit of a break while there is a focus on Voodoo Velkro.

GGotW: What does he do in the band?
Halo is very multi-talented; he is an excellent showman. He is capable of playing guitar, drums, and even bass in a pinch- and he can do it all while standing on stilts. Many people have never seen anything quite like it at an industrial show, and the crowd loves it. Right now, in Voodoo Velkro he is focusing on drums, but don't be suprised if you see him switch to guitar during the set.

GGotW: What is the bands style?
VA: Voodoo Velkro is an experimental/techno/industrial band. They are reminiscent of Lords of Acid with more industrial flavor. Their songs are very raunchy, and tons of fun to dance to. Skabdriver is a harder, more metal/industrial band. The songs are a bit more brutal.

GGotW: Do you do anything with the band?
VA: Everything I can! I went to Texas with Voodoo Velkro for the Thunder of the Gods Festival several months back. I help both bands with merch, and I cheerlead my heart out. I go-go danced for Voodoo Velkro's album release at Secretroom's Halloween Bash last year along with several other lovely ladies. I do all of Halo's costuming- I install his dreads, supplied his stage pants, and made his shirt with the help of a pair of scissors, some safety pins, paint, and lots of luv. I do his make-up as well. I've helped in a pinch at photo shoots, and I promote as much as I can- as if you couldn't tell. I also try to ensure Halo has enough Gatorade to drink- musicians really work up a sweat on stage. I help out other members as needed also- but they usually have their ducks in a row! :)

GGotW: When did you start modeling?
M: About 3 years ago

GGotW: What got you started?
M: Word of mouth and seeing other amazing models! I've always been inspired by 40's and 50's models and actresses like Mae West, Diana Dors, Bette Page etc..

GGotW: What styles do you like to model?
M: Classic pin up, corsetry, fetish, cosplay, fine art. But I enjoy all sorts of styles really- if only I could afford to buy an array of costumes!

GGotW: What got you started in corsetry?
M: Mmmm, corsets are yummy. I love how they look and feel! I found my first real corset in Afflecks Palace in Manchester, and had to get it! Was gorgeous heavy black velvet!

GGotW: Do you have new shoots coming up?
M: If I could get to USA! I've had some interest, but is impossible for me to get there!!

GGotW: What would it take to make that trip to USA happen?
M: A free flight!! Tee hee!

GGotW: What kind of styles do you shoot?
M: Allsorts! Espesh ultra glam modern pin up projects, and fetish shoots, focusing on lovely corsets.

GGotW: What is your favorite style to shoot?
M: That would probably be classic/vintage shoots. I adore styles from Victorian period corsets to mid 50's stockings and lingerie. I have been rag-rolling my hair since I was 10, I have always loved Victoriana.

GGotW: We understand you've worked with Mark Varley, have you appeared in any of his books?
M: I just had a shoot for his next book!

GGotW: Do you know what Mark Varley's next book is being called?
M: I believe its called London Rebound. . . . . !!

GGotW: Have you shot with other models?
M: Yes, I have worked with some lovely girls

GGotW: Who would you like to shoot with?
M: Goodness! The ever captivating and incredible Dita!

GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?
M: I work as a Wine Advisor. . . in the loosest sense of the term.

GGotW: You do Burlesque, what got you started?
MM: I always looked up to showgirls as a little girl, along with ballerinas. I loved how powerful they were when they used femininity, grace and glamor. When I started getting into pinup and fetish modeling, it only made sense to fulfill my dream even more as a performer. After all back in the 1930's and 1940's all the burlesque performers used their pinup photos as a way to market their burlesque performances!

GGotW: So do you use your Burlesque to advertise your Photos or the other way around?
MM: I absolutely use Burlesque and modeling to promote one or the other! They go hand in hand.

GGotW: What has been your most memorable experience as a performer?
MM: I think the first time I ever performed was the most memorable. It was when I realized that I had a passion for it and wanted to pursue it even further, and make a career out of it eventually. I love showing people a good time, that's really what it is about, is seeing an audience really enjoy the show, it's a good feeling.

GGotW: Who have you shot with?
MM: I have shot with many talented photographers, but to name a few that I have worked with multiple times: CandyLust, Insuh Yoon, Studio -X, Chris Gooden, and RedRum Collaboration. They are some of the most amazing people with incredible talent, and I enjoy every minute working with them.

GGotW: We understand you are in Culture De Tragedie, who shot you for it?
MM: Candace from CandyLust used a few images we created together for the Culture De Tragedie book, which I am very pleased with. I haven't seen the book myself yet, but I cant wait to see all that talent in one piece!

GGotW: What else have you done with CandyLust?
MM: CandyLust and I have shot many times together. I think we fell in love with each other creatively, so anytime we have a crazy idea we want to try out, we get together and see what we can pull off! I think the best images come from a trusting relationship between model and photographer.

GGotW: Do you have planned shoots?
MM: My schedule is jam packed right now. I have shoots in the making with Insuh Yoon, Ned & Aya, RedRum on their US tour, Koray, Studio-X, Chris Gooden, James Graham, and many more! All of them top secret! Stay tuned!

GGotW: What have you not shot that you would love to?
MM: I would love to do high concept or high fashion. I've done a lot of pinup and fetish work, but high fashion would be so fun and different for me.

GGotW: Do you have upcoming performances?
MM: I do! On May 2nd, I am a featured attendee for Fixe Magazine's Fetish Prom party at the club QXT, where I will be giving free spanks on the tush!

GGotW: We understand you were in Catwalk Tragedy in NY. How did you do?
I was, and it was a fabulous experience. To my surprise, I actually won first place as Miss Catwalk NYC 2009!

GGotW: You're the second Feature that we've had that is involved in SNAPM, what can you tell the readers about it?
MM: Snap'm is a wonderful meet-up group, and the largest in NJ. It's a really great place to meet new people, photographers, models, designers, etc. You definitely want to dress to impress because there are shooting stations on site. Once you get your name out there, you might have the chance to be featured at the event. I was featured in October, and it was really fun showing everyone my portfolio, and meeting new photographers to work with! I highly recommend it, especially if your are starting out, it's a great way to network.
