GGotW: How did you get started as a model?
E: I was invited to my first photoshoot back in 2007. I was always collecting weird stuff in fetish, gothic, cyber style, so I had a lot of clothes. I was invited by a group of photographers, who were interested in gothic and fetish models. It was something new for me, as I always had passion for PVC and latex, but had no experience as a model. Now I can say it wasn't very successful, but it was fine as first photoshoot. I'm attaching few 'behind the scene' photos.

GGotW:What convinced you this was something that you wanted to continue doing?
E: After some time, I was invited in studio, for music photoshoot with guitar. I created different images, so that photoshoot was more sucessful than the first one. I continued collecting unusual items, and I realized it was really helpful in that domain. I was involved in new photoshoots. I got a strong feeling it was perfect for me - It gave me the possibility to express myself.

GGotW:You'd done some fetish images, what are your fetishes?
E: I have fetish for latex, tight corsets, gloves, stockings, high heels (actually, I don't even wear some of my shoes - it is enough to own them!), and a special fetish for contact lenses.

GGotW:What do you do when you're not modeling?
E: I used to work as graphic designer, but working full day was not my style, so after a few years, I quit, and started working as freelancer. Now, when I'm not modelling, I mostly create some vector illustations for sale, and write articles and news about art. I like to read, literature is important part of my life.

GGotW:What keeps you grounded?
E: I'm always open to something new, I'm flexible, and try my best to create an image, and to keep it in style. Very often, people don't believe it is the same person on all photos. I take it serious, and often create some accessories for specific photoshoot. I offer my point of view on an idea, and try to improve it, or to bring something new. I think it keeps me grounded.

GGotW:Do you travel a lot in Europe for modeling?
E: Due to some circumstances, I don't travel a lot for modeling. Mainly, I work with my husband, who is a professional photographer - he knows what I want, and he can easily understand my ideas. Also, I help him to bring to life his ideas. I started creating some weird make-up just for fun, and I know that I'll be able to capture it in case it looks like I want. I get some order from abroad, and receive stock from stores. They receive pictures they want, at the moment, it is very comfortable for me.
Now, I have a big collection of corsets, latex stuff, high heels, wigs, contact lenses, cosmetics, and other accessories, to use in my projects.

GGotW: What got you started in modeling?
Mosh: I first discovered fetish a while back when I ran into some amazing photography by Lithium Picnic, Bob Carlos Clarke, Steve Diet Goedde, Michael Helms, and a bunch of others. I instantly found the work so intense and creative, I just fell in love. From there my interest in fetish photography only grew. At the time I didn't plan on modeling myself however at 17 I decided to start networking off a site. At 18 I decided to pursue fetish modeling and have been working on it ever since.Scared goth girl

GGotW: Where do you want to go with modeling?
Mosh: I never had a set plan on what I wanted to do and what I wanted to accomplish. I've worked with artists that I have dreamed about working with and have had the honor to be printed in magazines such as Marquis. I simply wish to continue this path, continue to produce unique images and continue to evolve. Currently I'm working on a paysite so I guess that's my next 'plan' for my modeling.

GGotW: Who have you worked with?
Mosh: A large variety of photographers. Ranging from Mickle Design Werks to Photos by Vance, Michael Helms to Lithium Picnic, Michelle Star to WinterWolfStudios....there's a long list, I could continue for a while!

Mosh in purple latexGGotW: What was it like to work with Lithium Picnic?
Mosh: Well first off, Lithium Picnic was one of the first photographers I ran into who created the images that got me into fetish and alternative work so getting the chance to work with the guy who did that was incredible. Working with him was definitely a wonderful experience. He could probably pull out some weeds from his yard and bring it back, create some crazy hair piece and a jungle set with it. Definitely a creative guy who's always evolving into something more, which is definitely an important factor when it comes to being an artist. On top of that I had the chance to work with Apnea while I was there which was also an amazing experience. She's always been one of my favorite models due to her impeccable modeling and creativity.

Mosh of themoshroomGGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?
Mosh: I'm probably planning a shoot, booking shoots, or answering emails regarding shoots. I never really get away from modeling. On the rare occasion that I have a day off I like to just watch movies at home, go out and eat with some of my friends, read...I don't really get to do those things anymore.

GGotW: There seem to be a lot of questions about your hair and its incredible whiteness. What is the story behind it?
Mosh: My natural color is dirty blond. I wasn't too fond of it so I decided to change it up. There's no real story behind it other than I wanted a different color, but also wanted to stick to the lighter side of hair colors. I had my hair professionally bleached out to the lightest possible shade, then I used a purple shampoo and conditioner called Shimmering Lights as a toner to get out all of the brassy and yellow tones. I honestly didn't expect my hair to tone out so well, after a couple of days it turned into this platinum white madness that I have today.

Mosh model, sultry sexy Alt modelGGotW: Nudity doesn't seem to be an issue for you as a model, what is photographically?
Mosh: I love doing artistic nudes and artistic fetish work. Personally, I'm not into these hardcore spread-leg shots that are taken simply for pornographic material. I like to produce more in an image than just that.

GGotW: A lot of your shots show a degree of athleticism, where does that come from?
Mosh: I was a gymnast for about 10 years, a cheerleader for even longer, rhythmic gymnast for about 3 years, and an acrobat for about one year.

GGotW: We understand the name Mosh isn't connected to standing front row at a rock show, so where does it come from? Mosh: Hah, that's true, its not. I've had this name for a long time now, when it came time to chose my modeling name it seemed to just fit.

GGotW: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Mosh: I hope to still be modeling, still growing as an artist, and hopefully still running my upcoming paysite.

GGotW: Is there a planned opening date for Themoshroom?
Mosh in realy high heals, black latex, washington DCMosh: I wish but not yet. I'm currently working on designing the layouts, the coding will take some time. I technically have an estimated month but I don't want to disappoint in case that month doesn't end up happening.

GGotW: What is The Moshroom
Mosh: Well, new themoshroom.com features a members section and guest section. So far the guest section leads to the website tour but soon it will be a public version of the paysite itself. It features multiple-image sets, currently over 2,400 images at the moment, and growing...rapidly. Aside from the juicy photos that I upload regularly, members can also view videos, access live webcam shows and the chatroom, view the live-streaming shoots, participate in exclusive contests, view my full (personal) calendar, access the members-only e-mail, and more to come! I have exclusive tutorials and guest model features coming next. I think that's it about my site. Like my work? Then you'll see loads of it and in great exclusive quality over at themoshroom.com :) Mosh, Vance photo, sexy goth in Red latex

GGotW: We understand you're running a little contest, what's that about?
Mosh: The contest, it ends Saturday, June 20th, so hurry up! Create two spectacular banners using my images and including my name and/or my website in the banner, and you could be 1 of 5 winners who receive a shiny new 5x7 signed print! 5 people who are members to my site who win will get a customized 5x7 print of their choice!

GGotW: How old are you?

Alina: I am nineteen years old.

GGotW: How long have you modeled?

Alina: Earlier I worked in for a model management, but I can't really call it a job. They didn't give me any useful experience, and I had to do some things that weren't interesting to me at all. After one year of working there I left them, as I got keen on dancing. In fetish and Gothic style I have worked for 1 year approximately.

GGotW: What started you modeling?

Alina: I've always been searching for something bright and unusual.

I tried myself in singing, journalism, worked as a gogo-dancer and studied in an actor faculty.

I always felt like I was missing something important, and had a great shortage of showing my worth, and I knew that I had to try something else.

One day I saw pictures of Dita Von Teese in the web, and she inspired me a lot. I understood that I had to unite my sexuality, that was growing from day to day, gothic style, that I really had passion for, and fetishness, cause I always was really crazy about all these amazing corsets, sensual stockings and brilliant latex outfits.

GGotW: Some of your images show you in corsets. Are you into corsetry?

Alina: Yes, and corsets are my passion really! In fact, I began modeling because of them... I always had a soft spot for woman's shapes, tighten into corsets, and my first shoot was in corset too. I find a special delight in feeling stretch tighten and a special beauty in changed forms - I love extreme corsets, when your waist is so narrow that looks like something cosmic. I can tighten myself up to 48-49 cm. I began wearing corsets when I was 16.

GGotW: What is the best modeling job you've gotten so far?

Alina: I've worked for our First Alternative TV, took part in 3 videos of Russian Gothic and industrial bands, and was featured in several mags... But now I've chosen my 2 favorite photographers and we're preparing some special content for my personal site, and I can say, I feel so free, I create all the plots of the shoots myself. I feel great pleasure, cause I know that every one of my ideas can come true!! I really love these people and adore their professionalism, so I enjoy every minute of our work

GGotW: What is the Moscow Gothic scene like?

Alina: Well, our Gothic scene is much more developed than the Fetish scene. We've got a lot of Gothic parties and gigs, and this style was VERY popular in our country some years ago. It was really very sad to see that Moscow turned into Baby Goth's city, and they perverted Gothic aesthetic a lot these days... Our cemetery's couldn't bear their terrifying attacks, a lot of graves were ruined, and all these things were done under cover of "Gothic style". However, it's nice to see that nowadays everything returned to its places and this horrible chapter of "Gothic style" has gone away.

GGotW: What would you like to see happen with the Moscow Goth community?

Alina: Frankly speaking, I think, that everything is OK. We have Gothic mags, gigs, parties, famous characters, and I'm happy that the bad Gothic influence has left us and now the subculture is mostly true.

GGotW: What part are you playing in the development of Russia's Fetish/Gothic industry?

Alina: I'm one of the first Russian models. Even 4 years ago it was rare for people to know what "fetish" meant. Now sometimes it is really very hard to prove that if I'm wearing latex outfits for example - it doesn't mean that I'm a terrible pervert, satanist, and eat kittens. Russian people have got a lot of awful stereotypes, and I think that we need some years to break them. I do my best to improve their opinion and to show that fetish and Gothic style can be very beautiful, sexy and even elegant. I really enjoy being in the scene, and to have straight contact with the public, to see their reaction, and I decided that the time has come for the first Russian fetish-show. I had no problems in finding suitable girls, and I'm proud to say that this summer Perish visited Moscow and we did 2 performances together.

GGotW: What do you do when you're not modeling?

Alina: I'm a usual girl. I eat, sleep, go to university, visit parties and gigs, and need love and care, as any other girl. Not everything in my life goes well, sometimes I have unlucky periods, sometimes people break my heart, sometimes another's envy ruins my plans, but I try to find power to go further and to overcome the difficulties.

When I have free time, I prefer going to theatres and reading classical literature. I adore Russian classics.

Our latest Goth Girl Feature is the London based alternative model, Vynx, who says she enjoys Fetish Burlesque as it gives her the chance to express herself without limitations.

Vynx Alt modelGGotW: You have an Asian look and a British address, what is your background?
Vynx: I come from the Philippines but I have lived in the UK for over 10 years now.

GGotW: Were you born in the UK?
Vynx: No, I was born in the Philippines but moved here at an early age.

GGotW: What got you started modeling?
Vynx: I would say in my teens I was such a poser and I loved dressing up, so posing in front of a camera to me is natural and so much fun. At that time though I was more interested in playing my guitar and being in a band - I wanted to be a rockstar! heh!heh! I would say working in a dull 9-5 job routine for soo long that I finally saw an inspiration that I could do more for myself and pursue what I would love to do for once. ModellingLondon based alternative model gives me the freedom to be expressive, dramatic, creative and dress up being who I want to be - it is enjoyable and a lot of fun! My interest for doing something creative rather than living in a box gave me lots of inspiration to focus and drive to do hard work. Plus it's a bonus that I enjoy travelling as well as meeting like minded people who are different and creative too.

Vynx from london england, goth alt modelGGotW: Did you start off as an Alternative model?
Vynx: I have always been in the alternative scene, I was a bit of a tomboy - never a girly girl into looks, trendy fashion or make up. I grew up on rock/metal music at an early age and with my love of piercings, tatoos and dressing up in alternative gear, I am more comfortable and a lot happier to pose in this kind of theme. I also do other styles, like art nude and life painting, so long it's tasteful. I think it's important to explore various styles in order to grow and gain experience, so long as I enjoy it.

I would never do something I feel strongly against like porn related pics. A lot of people confuse art nude and fetish to porn they don't see the 'art' intent towards it. Being an alternative Asian model into fetish is certainly not common but I'm pleased to offer something exotic and different to people.

Vynx, asisn goth modelGGotW: You do performances, What kind?
Vynx: I used to be part of now dysnfuct alternative burlesque group, and since I enjoyed performing I decided to go it alone. My performance could be termed as neo-burlesque, I haven't really given it much thought what kind of performance I do, as I just do what I like and enjoy. My performance combines my love of martial arts and the creative flair of burlesque, I also have varied other acts which involve pain...and pleasure too otherwise where is the fun in that?

Vynx, gothic girl modelGGotW: Where do you perform?
Vynx: I usually would perform in fetish clubs.

GGotW: Do you have any shows coming up?
Vynx: I have been so busy with modeling and other projects that I have not performed for a while, but I do know that there are couple of shows that I am going to audition for which hopefully I am successful in. Also because one of my performances involves a samurai sword, it can make finding venues tricky (Health and Safety in a fetish club!!!)

GGotW: How do you define the Gothic scene and your niche in it?
Vynx: I think the Goth/Alt scene is pretty much alive and well here in London, and it's great! For me the goth/alt scene is so much more than the way we look or the type of music we listen to, it is also what you believe in - what you are passionate about. It's easy to blend and be part of the society because that's what the norm expect us to be, but being able to express yourself by just being who you are means it doesn't matter what people say or think. Everyone has a right to express their individuality and I respect people for that. People willVynx with black skull always look at you if you don't look the norm and criticize you for being different. I never jumped on the band wagon just to be accepted or conformed my ways because I'm comfortable with who I am and that's what matters - no one can take that away from you. This defines me as a person and how I approach my modeling.

GGotW: When you are out meeting other London Goths where are you?
Vynx: Usually clubs and pubs or gigs. My fave local is The Devonshire Arms - or The Dev in Camden Town and Intrepid Fox in London. My usual haunts are Sin, Inferno, Torture Garden, Club Rub, Club Subversion, Club Severine, Festival of Sin and Anti Christ.

GGotW: Do you explore your wild side outside on the UK?
Vynx: I'm always wild wherever I am...

Fight for Freedom

A great photographer is fighting an incredible lawsuit for the freedom of his art. He is a fetish artist, and it's not that he's fighting for the right to display his works, or against obscenity laws. He's fighting for the right to take and freely display images of his girlfriend.

The photographer, Lithium Picnic creates amazing works of many women, but the issue is his use of pictures for his girlfriend Apnea's single-girl site. Lithium Picnic was by contract restricted from taking pictures for 'competitors', but Suicide Girls features multiple girls with daily updates. Apnea has weekly updates of just one girl, not really competition. Nonetheless he's being sued for $100,000. Apnea can give you more details below, but if you want to help the fight and support creative freedoms please consider using the tool below to lend a hand, they could really use it.

From ApneaticMedia Reposted with permision.
I know it's been a while since I've had time to make a state of the LP union address, but I want everyone to know how much we appreciate the emails and continued support and let you know what's going on. The fight is far from over, in fact it is just getting started. The recent ruling in California on the SG model contracts is a huge win but it doesn't have much effect on Philip's Oregon case. We've endured harassment from the owners and attorneys of SuicideGirls for almost two years, the trial finally starts next month in Portland.

Without the help of friends and supporters there's no way we could have come this far. To put things in perspective Philip's bills from attorneys and expenses related to the case were over $7,000 this month alone. The continued sales from prints and shirts have helped so much. We are committed to fighting this to the very end no matter how much it costs. We're posting auctions and new items for sale this week check back soon.

So here's an update on what's been going on in our world:

About two months ago Philip and I traveled to Oregon again at our own expense to endure two days of depositions from SG's attorney, Paul Loving. What that means is we got to sit in a room and get interrogated for two full days at an expense of about $5,000. One day for Philip and one day for me while Paul Loving asked us ridiculous questions like whether or not I thought I was more famous than Jenna Jameson. We were under oath and had to truthfully answer every question asked, from information on my website income to questions about Godsgirls and DeviantNation, whose phone numbers did we know and who on the SG staff has shown any sympathy for our cause. It was a clearly a witch hunt.

The good news is Sean and Missy get their turns at the deposition table this month, though I've heard through the grapevine that Sean can be very forgetful and creative when it comes to legal questioning.

Considering the amount of high profile press inquiries we've received I've stayed relatively quiet through all of this, mostly because I thought it would just make matters worse. But I've recently come to some realizations about the situation. Up to this point we were very hopeful that a counter-suit would be successful or that we would be able to recoup our legal fees when we win.

But we've given up almost all hope of this happening now, SG's lawyers are very skilled at arbitration and you can't just sue someone for suing you. Damages are extremely hard to prove and if they can make a case to show they think they had a reasonable basis for their claims it is very unlikely we'll see a cent returned even if we win. And if we do win SG will likely appeal the decision (even though they promised an apology to Philip if a judge found him in the right) and this appeal will probably drag it out for another year. This was a very depressing and sobering realization.

So why don't we give up and make a deal? Because we believe in karma and that we will prevail. Material things come and go and can be replaced. Maybe we're here in this train wreck for some larger reason. We've turned down their shitty deals before and we're not going to settle now. Maybe if we blow this up big enough and make the world aware of everything that's happening there may be a positive outcome in the end. Please help me spread the word.

We just wanted to be left alone. I've wanted to be done with the site and put it behind me for years but Sean and SG keep haunting me and confronting us and dragging me back into confrontation with them. I didn't want to go to Oregon and waste a week of my life being interrogated but SG dragged me there. I didn't want to get involved in the Godsgirls lawsuit but now SG is trying to drag Philip and I into that to question as witnesses.

Well I'm tired of being harassed and we're at the point where we have very little to lose and everything to gain by blowing this up, so congratulations Sean, I'm calling you out as the one pulling all the strings. SG Services Inc is you it's not "the suicidegirls" you're the one with a grudge and you're the one suing Philip.

...and you're the one that is going to be amazed at how much impact one little girl can make by just telling the truth.

Special Thanks to Philip for taking the time to let us use these images, maybe we'll get a chance to interview him for this site when the fight is over.
