News: Films in the works

To the left is Will Smith in I am Legend and some images of cars from the film can be found here.

If you are curious you can take a look at Terry Gilliam's unproduced scripts.

Want to be a part of Prince Caspian, the next The Chronicles of Narnia movie?

A script review has made a judgement call on 28 Weeks Later.

"This guy is a shark, a fearless shark and I know I can bring that alive" says Heath Ledger about his plans for The Joker in The Dark Knight.

Warner Bros. Pictures has picked up the rights to Here, There Be Dragons, an upcoming children's novel by James A. Owen. The book brings together three strangers -- John, Jack and Charles -- in London during World War I, where they become entrusted with the Imaginarium Geographica, an atlas of all the lands that have ever existed in myth and legend, fable and fairy tale. They end up traveling to the Archipelago of Dreams, fighting the dark forces that threaten two worlds. It is later revealed that the three are future fantasy authors J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams, who met in real life at Oxford and enjoyed a competitive friendship. David Heyman and David Goyer will produce the movies. Simon & Schuster are launching the book next week; with six more books due each October.

Feature: Sindel Chaos

Goth model Sindel Chaos behind frosted glass

ChestWiastHipsHeightWeight
Imperial34b"27"37"5"6'120 lbs
Metric
86cm69cm94cm168cm54 Kg

GGotW: What lead you to your name?
SC: "Sindel Chaos" is a stage name. A friend and I made it a long time ago. She gave me Sindel (no it doesn't have anything to do with Mortal Kombat) and I added Chaos because someone described my life as being chaotic and I felt I needed a last name.

GGotW: What part of the USA do you live in?
SC: Right now, I live in the Midwest. The closest semi-big cities to me are Joplin and Springfield, MO

GGotW: So do you find you need to travel a lot for gigs?
SC:Travel is an absolute must. Even when I relocate to a city, I will do a lot of traveling.

Sindel Chaos in Gothic wedding dressGGotW: What lead you to modeling?
SC: I would have to say my sister. She was the one whom originally wanted to be a model. She got discouraged and quickly quit. Her interest got me wondering if I was photogenic enough to do it, so I thought I'd try it. I loved it and haven't stopped.

GGotW: What kind of modeling did you start with?
SC: I was just wanting to model, period. The idea started off as mainstream high fashion, but I've always loved dark art or anything out of the ordinary. The clothes I'd end up wearing were of a darker shade, anyway. When I turned 13, I realized the work I was doing was geared towards the gothic genre and not so much the typical commerical mainstream world.

GGotW: Why are you now doing gothic modeling?
SC: There are quite a few reasons why I approve it over the mainstream world. Firstly, because it's reflecting more of who I am. I also get to be more of an artist. The photographer and I collaborate on the look and idea we want to portray, thus giving me more creative control. In mainstream modeling, there's not a whole lot of that. It's more of "sell the product," and a lot of the time, it's stuff I wouldn't use or wear. I have to make not only the product, but myself, appealing to the more traditional crowd. There are also very strict rules agency represented models have to follow like having very specific height and weight requirements.

Couple in goth clothesGGotW: Who's your favourite photographer to work with?
SC: I've felt very honored working with the majority of the people I've worked with. They're all so unique from their personalities all the way down to the style and technique of shooting. The photographer that I've worked with most and seem to have clicked with is . I just really love the way he shoots, he's hilarious, and I consider him one of my best friends. His make-up artist, Dena, is exceptional and all three of us just connect on this weird level allowing us to make great work.

goth couple in red and black clothingGGotW: What keeps you busy when you're not modeling?
SC: When I'm not modeling I'm networking, writing, reading, making candles, studying to be an esthetician, and talking to friends.

GGotW: When you model are the clothes yours already, or are they bought / designed special for the shoot?
SC: Both. Sometimes, I buy or alter stuff, my mom makes stuff, someone else involved makes stuff, or a store/designer/website contributes stuff they'd like to be featured on their website or other promotional materials.

GGotW: What is the coolest thing you've ever shot?
SC: It's hard to decide. I had a lot of fun shooting at a carnival for Pink Label Corsets. There is also a shoot I did in Brooklyn, where we found all these unused sinks in the trash, so we carried them into the studio and smashed them up. We had all the porcelain scattered around with me in the center laying in a sink.

GGotW: What is the most bizare thing you've ever shot?
SC: The weirdest stuff and most difficult is when I'm doing graphic art work. I'm put up against a plain backdrop and told the situation or the environment where I'll be placed, and then have to pose with nothing more than an idea. For example, I was going to be a mermaid. My legs were going to be edited out and fins edited where my legs were going to be. I had to stand up and appear to be swimming. I really had to imagine myself in an underwater world and try to get my upper body to appear how we wanted it.

GGotW:Have you ever been ask to do something at a shoot and weren't sure you wanted to?
SC:
I'm a very open person and I'm up for trying new things and experimenting trial by error as long as it's not against my morals. The few times that it has happened, I've never reshot with the photographer because as I expected, the selected shots didn't turn out along with the majority of the photos, they were a bad sport about it, or both.

GGotW: What's up next for you?
SC: Well, I have a ton of requests to shoot, so I'll definately be working down my list as time and finances allow. I'm also working on more publication work. I'm due out in around December, so that's really cool. I'd like to relocate very soon, so I will be working on that as well. I'm also thinking about doing acting work, but am still debating it.

GGotW: When you started , was there a purpose behind it other than exposure?
SC: It was for exposure and an easier more direct way of contacting me. In my opinion, a personal website appears more professional when you are working with people online. I hope to add more sections for my writing and candlemaking skills.

Feature: Baby Black

Baby Black in Gothic red corset over black vinyl dress, large spike color, redhead

ChestWiastHipsHeightWeight
Imperial34"26"34"5"2'110 lbs
Metric
86cm66cm86cm157cm50 Kg

GGothW: Why the name Baby Black?
BB: I've always been told that I have a babyish face. I actually got the inspiration from the movie Dirty Dancing.......Nobody puts Baby in the corner! Black comes from my favorite band, Poison Black. And I like the alliteration thing goin' there with the B's.

GGothW: Where do you live?
BB: Good ol' New England.

GGotW: Do you find you need to travel for gigs?
BB: There's not much goin' on in my area. LA is pretty big in what I do. I hope to get out there sometime.

GGothW: What lead you to modeling?
BB: My sister, . Some nice latina hotness right there!

GGotW: Was the gothic modeling your first genre?
BB: I've always been drawn to the goth. I was always just "different". Where as my sister ended up with dark skin and light hair, I got the light skin and dark hair and found it more difficult to do mainstream modeling. Plus, alternative modeling lets me get really creative and I'm a pretty artsy person.
Also I like to express myself! And look like a badass when I'm really tiny and sweet.

GGothW: Who's your favourite photographer to work with?
BB: of course! I keep goin' back to him for some reason. ;)

GGothW: What keeps you busy when you're not modeling?
BB: Work, drawing, and Martial Arts

GGothW: When you model are the clothes yours already, or are they bought / designed special for the shoot?
BB: It just depends. I do a lot of crazy fetish looking things that I don't normally wear out in public! So of course, those I usually buy (or my photographer buys) for the shoot. Most everything is mine. I'm pretty materialistic. I like to keep things ;)

GGothW: What's your favourite outfit to date?
BB: It's always changing, but I really like shiney patent stuff! I borrowed this cincher from my friend from SG and a little patent dress from her photog. The combination is HAWT! But I didn't get to keep it.

GGothW: What is the weirdest thing you've ever shoot?
BB: I did this gothic marionette set where I'm swinging from the ceiling. It looked really cool but it was hell getting that jumping harness on! And after a few minutes my legs went numb.

GGothW: What is the working relationship between you and the Photograhers you work with like?
BB: I'm veeery picky about who I work with. If their work is crap and has no artistic merit, I won't work with them. It means they haven't taken the time to find out what it takes to be a decent photographer. Also, you never know who could end up holding your pics later on. I'm lucky in that I did nudes early (you get a lot of attention doing nudes) so now that I've toned down, most photographers still kinda know who I am. I've worked with all my photographers at least twice. They're great peeps.

GGothW:
What's up next for you?
BB: Anything and everything! I'm working on an alternative/cosplay website but I'm not too clear as to when that will be up. I'll keep you posted ;)

GGothW: What else would you like to tell us?
BB: I'm a nut. I'm geeky; I love learning about computers and different cultures. And I'm the most unPC person you'll ever meet. Except I'm totally toning it down here ;) I love to make people laugh and think that people should be able to laugh at all aspects of themselves without getting embarrassed or being offended. Life is too short to worry about what other people think!

Feature: Lady Atropos

goth Lady Atropos in vinyl bodysuit and leather corsetWelcome to our second Feature Goth Girl of the Week. Atropos lives in little ol' Ohio and manages to find plently of gigs and enjoys the scene. Don't forget to check out her images, just click on the thumbnials along the interview. Check out her website.

GGotW:
Where did you get the name Lady Atropos? Was there an inspiring faction or was it taken from a source or two?
A: I have a life long passion for reading, and much of that reading has included mythology from various culturs. Atropos stems from greek and roman mythology. She was one of the 3 fates - the eldest who cut the thread of life for mortal and gods alike. I like the name because it reminds me of mortality and how precious life is.
I really don't use the Lady part anymore - as I found out it often is misunderstood as a name tag for me being a ProDom. In the event anyone is wondering, I'm not :P

Measurements
362936
Height-&-Weight
5'7"135 lbs

GGotW: Favourite colour?
A: aqua blue

GGotW: Favourite food?
A: Bread! I love good bread!

Atropos

GGotW: What part of the country do you live in?
A: I live in...Ohio. I have lived all over in my youth, as I was a military child, but my end result is that I have taken up a long term home in ohio.

GGotW: Has modeling been easy where you live or do you find you need to travel for gigs?
A: Modeling is easy for me because I have a very strong drive and marketing sense. I never travel and yet I have been very fortunate to have acheived a lot! I consider my success pure luck, mixed in with knowing how to tap into that luck.

AtroposGGotW: What lead you to modeling?
A: I love Halloween and costumes. I create costumes all the time but never had any good quality photos to document them - thus, modeling came into play.

GGotW: Was the gothic modeling your first genre, or did you start in another field and move into Goth?
A: I don't really have any specific genre. I shoot whatever I want, regardless of style, or lables. You could say I started as a gothic model, though that never was the intention.

GGotW: Who's your favourite photographer to work with?
A: I don't have one. I've worked with a few great photographers who are -not- known in the industry. They are small humble talents with amazing skills - thats the best kind of a photographer :)

GGotW: What keeps you busy when you're not modeling?
A: GAMING! I am a geek - I love games. Table top, rpgs, computer games, card games, whatever it is....Ill give it a try! I dont attend fetish parties or gothic balls..i attend gaming conventions.

Lady Atropos NoneGGotW: When you model are the clothes yours already, or are they bought / designed special for the shoot?
A: Some of the clothing are mine, some of the clothing are bough, some are sent to me to wear for a catalog. It all depends on what the shoot is for. I try and do a shoot with a purpose in mind.

GGotW: What's your favourite outfit to date?
A: My gasmask one :) - I call that one "Bishop".

GGotW: What is the coolest thing you've ever shoot?
A: The latex ballerina - I was suspended on ropes into the air as if I were a puppet ballerina on a massive stage. Oh man, did I make funny sounds! While I was suspended - the shibari rigger spun me around and puppetted me for a laugh.

GGotW: What is the wierdest thing you've ever shoot?
A: That would be an upcoming photo shoot I have planned..its a secret so I cant tell you :P

GGotW: What will you not shoot, or are you limitless?
A: I'm not a porn, adult, bondage, fetish model. Some of the stuff I shoot is cheeky or suggestive..but you won't find me on paysites. I am not a part of the adult industry - so I don't shoot it.

GGotW: Have you ever been ask to do something in shoot and weren't sure you wanted to?
A: Models get asked all the time to do things that they would never want to. I've had seemingly gentlemen photographers turn into creeps very quickly. I normally don't do what they want due to the requests usually being disrespectful and crude. If the behavior was unexcusable, I dont shoot with them again.

GGotW: What's up next for you? More shoots, shows, or some other project that you're working on in another field.
A: I'm returning to college. Modeling doesnt provide a 401k (*editor* a retirement fund), or much else. It is very fun, and creative..but I sooner depend upon an education and a good job to provide for my retirement
funding.

GGotW: When you started your website, was there are propose behind it other than exposure?
A: Yes, I use it as a training grounds for my marketing skills. I am very successful with promotion things online and have several websites that are the #1 google search result for many big key words. My personal website is a playground for the study of that marketing form - where I can screw around with its promotion and take that knowledge to my clients.

GGotW: What can you say to advise other models or aspiring models?
A: Modeling is fun, but to be careful and dont step into it being too serious. You have to be able to laugh at yourself - otherwise you and others will tear you apart.

Feature: Wednesday Mourning

Wednesday Mourning is a California model who has has been working in the alternative realm.

She looks for: Goth, EGL, Industrial/Gothic Fashion, Artistic and the Strange and Unusual!!

Measurements? 34-25-35
Height / Weight? 5’8 . 115 pds

GGotW: Where did you get the name Wednesday Mourning? Was there an inspiring faction or was it taken from a source or two?
WM: I am very happy you asked this as it seems to have been a source of confusion. The Wednesday part came from a victorian nursery rhyme *not* from the Addams Family. My mother started calling me Wednesday when I was about 13 and that has been my chosen name since. A few years ago I added the Mourning onto it to differentiate myself from the Addams family and for anyone else using that name…and it’s funny! I love creepy-silly things and my name pretty much expresses that.
GGotW: Favourite colour?
WM: Purple

GGotW: Favourite food?
WM: Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Venison YUM! (I’m a Southern gal)

GGotW: What part of the country do you live in?
WM: I live in Hollywood, California

GGotW: Was the gothic modeling your first genre, or did you start in another field and move into Goth?
WM: Nope it is my first and will always be my main genre. I have specific tastes and preferences that I have had since a child that will never change. I.E I do not “genre hop”...this is who I am through and through.

GGotW: Who's your favourite photographer to work with?
WM: That’s a very hard question, I like each one for different reasons. I enjoy spending time with Rebekah Boyle as she seems like the creepy sister I never had, and Renard Garr is so excited about his work that it’s a blast shooting with him. Each one has their own great qualities artistically and individually that I just can’t answer that question :)

GGotW: What keeps you busy when you're not modeling?
WM: Reading... lots of reading.

GGotW: When you model are the clothes yours already, or are they bought / designed special for the shoot?
WM: Lately a lot of the clothes have been provided for me in exchange for promotional use by the designers, but when I started out I had to provide all my own.

GGotW: What's your favourite outfit to date?
WM: I've worn some very interesting things in the past, my current favourite would be a 1800’s style corset and Panniers I wore for a shoot for Lovely Creature Corsetry.

GGotW: What will you not shoot, or are you limitless?
WM: I will not shoot nudes, typical pin ups, cliché vampire things (fangs and fake contacts) or anything that I find boring (like a GAP ads;).

GGotW: Have you ever been ask to do something in a shoot and weren't sure you wanted to?
WM: Chris Anthony normally prompts me to create a emotion with my face (anger/shock/ horror) and I normally don’t feel comfortable expressing myself physically. I always wonder how it’s going to look on film but he always manages to make it appear real and visceral. I will always work with him, he is one of my favs!

GGotW: What's up next for you? More shoots, shows, or some other project that you're working on in another field.
WM: I have just done a shoot with  for ’s new album “The Black Parade” coming out October 24th. Although I have yet to see it I am sure it will be great!
