GGotW:
You're working on a novel, can you tell me about it?

LRB: The book I'm working on is not a novel.  it is an esoteric book which contains the keys of the answer which coincide with the three phases of the moon.  That is the phase of the waning moon "The elderly", the full moon "The mother", the crescent moon "The virgin".
This is a book that is born with the lunar vibrations and the messages contained in it, come from this: The moon.
They were released throughout the year of 2021, a symbolic year also known as the Aquarius era, the year that closes a cycle in its esoteric meaning, the beginning of the new change, where at its end, many veils have fallen and many things have been revealed for their true nature and essence.
An important energy change on a planetary level, essential for the evolution of being.

The number 20 in the major arcana represents "the judgment" understood as the dissolution of the masks of the ego, the discernment and therefore the fall of the veils.
The 21st "The World" which marks the beginning of a new cycle, or the entry into a new awareness of the self.
The 22nd "Il bagatto or Il Fool" which symbolizes emptiness, the nothingness from which everything starts, to rise to a higher stage of conscience or abandon oneself to the fatuous, to the vain to inconsistency.
It is no coincidence that in this year "2022", there are many dimensional portals that open and each bring a different energy awareness, it is no coincidence that one is today that I am writing to you, portal 22.02.2022
Obviously I have briefly described to you some focal points.

GGotW:
Are you self-publishing, or looking for a publisher?
LRB: Actually I would like to publish it with a publishing house, but all the things that have been proposed to me so far by them, have not turned out to be appropriate or what I was looking for. For this reason as soon as it is completed, I will make a self-publication of this book both in Italian and English.
If, on the other hand, what some publishing house proposes to me will be in tune with what I am looking for, I will consider the proposal.

GGotW: What are you reading right now?
LRB: At the moment nothing, given that I am working on my book and therefore I avoid any kind of influence. At most I read poetry, one of the poets I feel in tune with is Charles Baudelaire

GGotW: What is it that draws you to the works of Charles Baudelaire?
LRB: I love Charles Baudelaire, as his sometimes dramatic vision manages to describe quite complex concepts in a poetic way, the reality of the spirit that relates to matter, and however much it is a purely esoteric content and how natural it is. Expressed in language hermetic and allegorical, it still manages to reach those who are unable to dissect and transfigure this, with emotions, managing to delicately touch inner chords and somehow awaken flashes of dormant unconscious memory in the reader.
Having for years now advanced on an invisible path known as ignote to those who have never entered it and which leads by itself elsewhere, out of any sort of projection and leading to the authentic, I can affirm that the real curse consists in this:
"To assimilate and be aware of things that you will never be able to expose or say for what they really are"
There are various reasons, the words in some cases are a limit, there are no terms that can explain certain things and although with those that are there you try to give a vague explanation, the result is totally distorting the meaning.

Other things cannot be said, they could never be understood, in addition to this the risk is to regress until you forget everything about where you have arrived, why and who you are.
The truth is that certain things are not chosen, they choose you, by virtue of what you are, your awareness, your ability, your loyalty, your courage.
How much you are able to demonstrate, first of all to yourself and then to access the rest, so that you become the custodian of something unique on the way to reach the true self.
And silence in this case is ambrosia, so you are left with the ability to sigh between words only what is possible, since your task is not to lead others to a where, but to ignite, even if a spark, in the remote depths of one's being. ..
Whether to turn it into a flame or put it out only to them is given to know as much as to do it.
The royal darkness accompanies and shows the invisible to those who burn with their own light, otherwise it overwhelms them until of their true self no trace remains.

GGotW: Have you been modelling for long?
NH: I have been modelling for 5 years.

GGotW: What got you started modelling?
I started to advertise different clothes I made. Then I continued taking pictures of things I loved. I love photography and I love what you can represent in images, different worlds and characters.

GGotW: You're from Italy and living in Germany now, do you travel a lot for shoots?
NH: Yes...I travel a lot! I return to Monaco tomorrow, we are always in transit!

GGotW: Do you make your own outfits?
NH: Yes, I'll create the outfit myself, or otherwise modify something to suit my taste. I have very particular tastes and it's hard for me find clothes.

GGotW: Who inspires you?
NH: I've always been very inspired by Emilie Autumn and Tim Burton, this year my muse is Japanese manga artist and designer, Kaori Yuki.

GGotW: What is it you like about Emily Autumn?
NH: I love her voice and how she created a new style by combining the Victorian, with a world of fairy tales.

GGotW: Where do you hope you modelling will take you?
NH: I would like to work as model for gothic clothing catalogs.

GGotW: What do you do when you are not modelling?
NH: I worked as a saleswoman and maid. When I have time, I read many books and I watch a lot of movies. Movies are my passion, especially horror.

GGotW: What is your favourite Horror movie?
NH: My favourite horror movie is "Rose Red", I love the atmosphere! I also love  "Steven King's IT", I am clown lover!

GGotW: Do you work with various photographers, or are you still shooting stuff yourself?
NH: No, usually I get other people to do the photograph for me. I like to organize the make-up and the outfit but, I am not good as photographer.

GGotW: What photographers have you worked with?
NH: I have collaborated with Dennis Ziliotto and Youness Taouil, Photographer by bizzarre style, and I have worked more with artists; Dani Mesk, SYlwia, CuPlino Fukenzima, Dario Andreoni and a few more.

GGotW: Who got you started in modeling?
LB: It was a photographer living near my city, The.Ory. She told me she was an alternative photographer and asked me to model for her. I found it a very enjoyable experience, so I continued modelling.

GGotW: How did you meet The.Ory?
LB: We first met through Myspace, then we decided to have a face to face meeting since we lived nearby and we shared many interests especially in goth music and subculture. There are very few people with these kinds of interests where I live. I was very happy to meet her as a friend and to discover, thanks to her, the existence of a kind of photography centred around models belonging to alternative subcultures.

GGotW: What kind of places do you like to do shoots?
LB: I particularly love abandoned places as locations, like ruins of ancient villas or castles for their historical atmosphere full of memories, or abandoned hospitals or factories for the sick and decaying feeling they can give to the picture. I find it very easy and productive to interact with such places when I model, it's like each of them has a story of their own to tell me; in those locations I like to model following this sort of "indications" the place gives me, hoping that this "strange" story or fairytale will be shown too in the photos once finished.

GGotW: What is your ideal shoot?
LB: I think a deeply artistic one, which has a story to tell and it's perceived as "rich" in significance, but at the same time very attentive to the details, to the alternative fashion, since wearing and planning peculiar dresses and styles is one of the funniest and most creative parts of organizing a shoot.

GGotW: What countries have you shot in?
LB: Right now I've mainly travelled Italy to take shoots, for example in cities like Rome or Milan, or to places with interesting historical or naturalistic locations, but I'm planning this summer or soon after to try Germany, it would be wonderful and there are plenty of great alternative photographers and models there.

GGotW: You enjoy singing. What kind of stuff do you sing?
LB: I've learned to sing some years ago with the "Nightwish" kind of music. Right now I'm in a symphonic black metal group in which I sing the backing vocals and I play the keyboards and I've recently started a new project, a rock band in which I'm gonna sing the main vocals. I would have loved to sing in a "batcave" goth group, but sadly I'm not in the right place or time for that!

GGotW: What is your current band called?
LB: Initially it was called Nocturno but we thought that it was not a very original name. So we've changed it and now it is called Strawberry Nocturne. It is inspired from a strange dream I had in which my mind mixed elements from Chopin's nocturnes and the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever".

GGotW: What is your new group going to be called?
LB: We are pondering about what name should be best. We are thinking about Cherryblood Moon, because some time ago in Germany we saw the phrase "Kirschenblut im Mondenlicht" and we thought it was a fantastic name but since it's too long we have shortened it in Cherryblood Moon.

GGotW: I understand you are a writer. What kinds of stuff do you write?
MaryC: I love the Gothic Literature and I started to write goth novels when I was 16. A few years ago I sent my dark stories to various editors with good results, so I decided to continue. Actually I’m working on a dark urban story and a few short stories, so... Stay tuned!

GGotW: You've done modeling for artists, do you sit and pose or do they generally photograph you and work from that?
MaryC: A few times I tried to sit and pose, but it’s very boring for me and hard for the artist, while working from photos is more simple because he can complete the work in more sessions. I shared some dark pictures in the web, then I’ve found many artists who painted me.

GGotW: How would you characterize your style?
MaryC: It depends on the mood and on what I want to realize with each particular image , but I often choose dark, gothic and retrò-alternative style. I 'm interested in all things that can be a source of inspiration for not conventional art and beauty and

I love recreating the atmosphere of the gothic literature with the most dark and enchanting representation of the beauty.

GGotW: Would you say you're a typical Italian Goth?
MaryC: I don’t know... Probably it isn’t so, because I have no piercing or tatoos over my body, while all the other alternative models (Italians and foreigns) are famous for their ones! However, I always try to be open to different ideas and concepts. I think I’m quiet versatile and it is very easy to work with me, tatoos or not tatoos!

GGotW: What are you reading/watching/ listening to these days?
MaryC: I'm reading Gerald's Game by Stephen King and The Story of One Forgotten by Marie Corelli. I love every kind of music, but in these days I prefer Evanescence and The Rasmus. I always watch so many movies, but now I'd love to see the new by Robert Rodriguez, Machete.

GGotW: How long have you been a part of the goth/fetish scene?
D: Not sure I can answer this question, as there's no such thing as 'goth/fetish scene', or clubs, or anything similar where I live.

I have always been interested in the dark and the occult. Since I was a child. I then fell in love with some artists that have been and still are a great source of inspiration, like for instance Shakespeare, Lovecraft and Poe amongst many others. Those wicked atmospheres, the stories, the art. Beautiful.

Obviously, I know it's not a book or a particular passion that makes you 'goth' or whatever you may want to call it. It's not a matter on how you dress like or what you listen to. It's up to the single person. Everyone is different from each other, and this is good.
The most wrong thing I've ever heard about goths is that they are all alike. They are not. Each
individual is unique in his own way, so the aestethical tastes are, and it does reflect on art and music choices.

So well, back to your question.. in short, 'quite some time' I guess :)

GGotW: When did you start modeling?
D: I 'officially' started back then in 2004. The idea of taking 'certain dark / alternative pictures' popped up way earlier, however -sadly- in my area I couldn't manage to find any photographer familiar with the style or even available to test shoot something that was beyond simple 'fashion' [imho].

The chance came along when I moved to Belgium for some time. I went there to study and I did it almost all of the time. One day I decided to give it a try and I posted a on a photography message board. I got many contacts and emails, however I managed to shoot with a few photographers only, study has always been a priority and I didn't really have much available time. That's how it all started :)

GGotW: What photographers have you worked with?
D: Many of them, I assume a list would be boring to read :) Just to name a few, Lazarus Walking, Aldo Stefanni, Lionel, The Glory Box, Anticmos and Mark Loré. If you really are interested on a list, the whole thing is on my website :) - I won't bore you here :)

GGotW: What got you started modeling?
D: I just wanted to do something I liked, possibly something that reflected my lifestyle, my thoughts, my passions. This included giving it a try. I loved being part of a piece of art, being part of a story, a fairy tale. This is what lots of people would like to do, so I don't find it strange at all.

Pursuing a modeling career has never been my secret dream. I never dreamt of being a model when I was a child and I never spent too much time on makeup and girly things during my teen years. It's quite funny then I ended up doing so. I love working with talented people because they make beautiful images, I am just a part of the whole thing, but I don't do everything alone, there's often a great team working behind the scenes. I am a canvas to MUA's and a mannequin to photographers. This leads to some pretty images.

GGotW: What kind of outfits do you like?
D: Oh la la, this is the kind of question that should never be asked to a girl, in order to prevent a million items to be listed ;)
Seriously: corsets are a big fetish of mine. I like to squeeze into these pretty torture toys. The more, the better. Other than corsets, I love high heels. I admit my preferences go to platform shoes, up to 8 inches.

As for the outfits, I love latex. A piece of my heart regarding latex is for the uniforms and costumes.. I know that cat woman together with a nurse with an oversized siring are considered cliches nowadays, but you can't deny how sexy, beautiful and shiny they are ;).

Last, but not least, I like gothic clothing. And since 'gothic' is a little bit too general, I would also emphasize on some style, such as renaissance, late 1800 and generally those 'Venetian costumes' you can see while walking on the streets of Venice during Carnival, delightful.

GGotW: Have you been in any Magazines?
D: Yes, I've been in some mags. It's a very nice feeling :)
Regarding this, I have an anecdote. I was shopping with my mother and I reached the 'newspapers & magazines' area of the shop. Out of curiosity, I checked a mag and started peeking at the pages. While doing so, there I see an article about me.

The fact wasn't totally unknown as the mag editors contacted me and requested some info and pics, however I didn't expect to find myself published as I didn't get any notification and stuff. Usually I am told before when I will appear on some mag.

It has been nice. I shown my mom the mag and she was all fuzzy and uber-excited about it.

Pretty, little things that make you happy :)

GGotW: What has been your favorite experience?
D: Being totally honest, I do not have a 'favourite experience' - I am more someone who collects nice experiences and gives the right value to them all. So, there are some that are my faves - however it wouldn't be honest to say there's one only.

I worked with so many people and almost all of them gave me something beautiful to carry in my hearth with me. It would be unfair choosing a single one :)

GGotW: What gets you going in the morning?
D: Uhm, I am not completely sure on what to answer here :). Does 'coffee' work ;)?

GGotW: What drives you through the day?
D: Everything I do usually gives me a reason to go on. People I love, things to do, work. It's the Life concept.

GGotW: What excites you at night?
D: There are two different kind of 'nights' that are remarkable.
One is the silent one: when it snows, and everything is white, soft, fluffy and silent. The other one is the noisy one: thunderstorms play well in this case. In both cases the feeling is so beautiful :)

GGotW: What do you like to shoot?
D: I like the alternative style, which indeed comprehends a wide range of sub-styles, including general dark, goth, fetish, cosplay, fantasy and so on. I like to shoot all of these styles and I do it

with the same enthousiasm every time. I love it when great styling is featured and when the projects are colorful, bizarre, unusual.

GGotW: What wont you shoot?
D: I wouldn't shoot porn or erotic pics involving nude. At all. It absolutely doesn't interest nor suits me. I respect people who do it, obviously, but it's not what I am looking forward to do :)

GGotW: What have you shot that you didn't like?
D: I could say everything I shot, I liked. However, some times in the past I wasn't really pleased with the results. I probably expected something more than couple of photoshop effects applied on couple of pictures after a day of hard work - and once it happened that even the photographer I was working with wasn't really the kind of person I expected.

It happens, there's nothing wrong with it. It's experience and if it doesn't go as you expected the first time, you can give it another try, why not. It depends on the situation, what you are looking for and on what your first expectations were :)
