GGotW: How did you become a model
LLD: Longtime interest in modeling, photography and fashion led to experimenting in front of the camera and trying out different things which is how I started to work with people and websites interested in my particular styles.

GGotW: What got you started in music?
LLD: I was always singing or beating on something then one day, I grabbed the mic during a jam session and it began. From there I started writing,singing and drumming.

GGotW: Who have you performed with?
LLD: I have been involved with several projects; Tortured Cunt Meat (Grindcore-singer/lyricist), Razorblade Sex (Infernal Industrial-lyricist/singer/drum programmer), Halothane (Serial Killer Cover Duo-singer), and Vagina Dentata (Formerly known as The Orphans) (All female punk-drummer)

GGotW: Which bands are you with today?
LLD: Currently working on a project called Cybernaut, it's experimental industrial and I do the programming.

GGotW: You work in film, what do you do?
LLD: I write horror scripts and also act.

GGotW: What films have you made?
LLD: I have written and acted in several short horror films so far; "esc", "Invocate" which won the audience award at Time Code:Nola Super 8 mm Film Fest September 2012 and most recently "SKG" about a serial killer groupie, which is currently in post-production.

GGotW: Can we show one of your films?
LLD: Yes, here is the experimental horror short "esc"

GGotW: How would you describe your particular styles?
LLD: Rivethead, Industrial-Gothic- monochromatic military based aesthetics.
For modeling, I can and have temporarily adopted other variants of Gothic fashion for photo shoots such as borrowing elements from Gothic Lolita, Cyber, etc.

GGotW: You're in New Orleans, what is the Alternative culture like there?
LLD: New Orleans is well known to possess a unique vibe and culture in and of itself, lots of "different" types converge here, myself included. We have Goths,Vampires,Witches,Voodooists and more that freely interact here.

Jinx was born in the southern part of Iceland and grew up in the Baltimore/DC area. She recently moved to Charlotte, NC in 2007 to live with her fiance and work for Single Cell Productions as a dancer, stage actress and performance artist . Among other things she's a contortionist with a strong background in dance/musical theater as well as acting, the fine arts and figure skating.

Currently Jinx is working on her 3rd movie, and her first leading role. A slasher/horror film entitled "Special Affects", as well as touring the east coast with Purgatory-TheShow, where she performs by night and models by day.

GGotW: What got you started in performance?
Jinx: Well my parents have a strong background in the arts and they were a big influence on me. I started in ballet when I was about 3 years old, and figure skating when I was 7 years old. I loved it and was a competitive figure skater for 7 years. From there, I joined a performance art company where I did mostly dance & musical theatre. I was doing that for a few years, all the while getting into the whole goth/underground scene primarily because of how it's so influenced by the fine arts and self-expression. I found everything about it so beautiful and appealing to me, and through it all I've met so many awesome people who are really accepting and colorful despite the world who's so often shunned them for one reason or another, kind of like an "island of misfit toys" so to speak.

GGotW: What led you to Purgatory and fetish performances?

Jinx: Basically one thing just led to another. As I said, I got into the whole goth/underground scene in the DC/Baltimore area, where I met a few friends who would come up from Charlotte and told me about the Purgatory events down there. I came to visit them in April of 2007, where I attended my first Purgatory, and just instantly really liked the scene and the city itself. I thought the fusion of performance art with a bit of a fetish twist with a goth/underground event was really cool and thought it might be something I'd really like to be a part of. So I moved to Charlotte and joined Single Cell Productions (the company that does Purgatory), in May of 2008, and have been there ever since. Shortly thereafter, I met my now-fiance Dave Harlequin (the event's promotions/pr director). We hit it off almost instantly and fell in love in something of a storybook scenario. So in a way Purgatory and fetish performances kind of led me to my future husband.

GGotW: Why the name Jinx?
Jinx: Well, life is all about freak occurrences, and I don't take it in the sense of it being a bad thing. Say for example if I'm talking with someone and we say something at the same time, almost as though we were reading each other's minds. It's those type of weird coincidences that interest me the most in life, because nothing is really coincidental. I believe that everything happens for a reason, yet everything in my life seems like some amazing string of coincidences, yet it all falls into place too well for me not to believe I live a charmed life. Thus I took the name Jinx as sort of an homage to that.

GGotW: What got you modeling?
Jinx: Well it was something that I'd never tried before, and I decided to give it a shot. As it turned out, I really enjoyed it and seemed to have a knack for it. So I kept doing it, improving with each photo shoot, thanks in part to several talented people I've had the luxury of working with over the years. I've now built a pretty impressive portfolio and am finally starting to see my hard work pay off getting into so many publications and what not. It makes me really happy to succeed in such a tough industry and I just feel really thankful to everyone who's helped make it all possible.

GGotW: What waist size do you get down to in a corset?

Jinx: hmm.. well I've never actually measured... but I'd assume it would bring me down to around 18" that's something I'd like to look into myself.

GGotW: You told us your a Horror movie actress, where might we have seen you?
ZK: Well I just started acting about 9 or 10 months ago and so far I have done a short independent film titled Meeting Mary it’s the classic story of bloody Mary with a millennium twist. And as we speak I am working on a film with director John Montgor titled Zombie Freak. Zombie Freak really caught my attention its about the typical misfit kind of girl who arrives in a town filled with preppies and comes out as the hero of the story by saving the town from complete chaos. Don’t underestimate your so called misfits because one day they can save your butt... Look for that in video stores all across the country in May 2008. Ohh, and I have my own You tube show entitled MAD IE it’s a variety show with plenty of horror related topics such as movie reviews, top horror conventions, haunted houses and a little comedy for all.

GGotW: When did you start acting?
ZK: Earlier this year, it wasn’t something planned everyone around me knows I love horror films and knows that even in my modeling I incorporate a lot of horror into my pictures. So I guess some figured maybe that was my next step and after trying it I had to agree.

GGotW: What name do you appear under in films?

ZK: Gaby Nunez or Zombie Kitten my short filmed was Gaby and my newest film will have me as Gaby Nunez aka Zombie Kitten.

GGotW: Where does the name Zombie Kitten come from?

ZK: Well I am a zombie film lover I mean truly an addict. I have been watching zombie films since I was about 5 years old. So I though to honor my addiction I make my name zombie, but we needed a twist of femininity and well a kitten is a very feminine animal cute but quick to turn if you piss it off, plus it gives it that old school feeling that I love so along came zombie kitten.

GGotW: Who have you shoot pictures with?
ZK: Well I worked with many different photographers I have worked with Danny Pin up Master know for his pin up pictures I was lucky to shoot with him before he retired from photography, I have worked with Hot Topic/ Torrid for their website, I have done work with Horror Gorrre film as their promotional model and I worked with some great local photographers such as Mike Kelly and Zoom digital photography(if I missed any I apologize I have bad memory) and currently I been really collaborating a lot with Mike, from A moment in Time photography his pictures tell a story I love his work.

GGotW: What is next for you as an actress or model?

ZK: Good question, on that, only time will tell. I can tell you that I know I will be part of the horror world and I do hope to help put horror back on the map. Not the horror we see today with big budgets and great special effects but the horror from before when budgets were small and passion was big. I mean Evil Dead what a film its budget was awfully small but here we are over 25 years later still talking about it, Halloween, night of the living dead I can go on and on. We need those memorable horror movies back and I want to help in any way possible to bring horror back. So I guess low budget B movies is where I will be for a while. As for modeling Zombie Kitten isn’t going no where so you’ll be seeing me around plenty.. I just recently landed on a few website Atomic Pin-Up and Bad Kat online magazine so will see where else I go

GGotW: What got you into goth?
ZK: Wow, I really don’t know I have always been drawn to being an individual, unique and not caring what society might think of your for looking a bit different and having weird ideas and thoughts. I guess my personality, my ideas my way of looking at life and in no way do i mean emo like people think of goths today. I just like the unusual the original and sometimes creepy as people may say but to me I see beauty and originality.

GGotW: What is your involvement in goth culture, outside of film work?

ZK: Well I feel like my involvement comes from the way I live my life, am not one of those females who walks around saying I love goth and am so goth besides that I guess my likes and dislikes, when i was younger I use to have the whole emo goth look with the all in black fashion and the depressing goth/industrial type of music blasting in my stereo. Today I have to say am a much more happy and open individuals so yes I still refuse to watch anything on big screen that doesn’t have a horror or goth element to the story, and yes I love the fashion but with a twist of old skool feeling to it and finally I like to just contemplate the darkness and see the beauty in it that many choose to ignore.

GGotW: What keeps you occupied when your not doing pictures or film?
ZK: Ahh well my family and friends I love them they help keep me sane. I also am currently working on opening up my own non profit organization, I remember what it was like being a teen with nothing to do. So my hopes are to have a place that promotes individuality and artistic values. If you have dreams of being a rockstar, tattoo artists, actress or model no one should laugh at you instead they should support you and help you achieve your goals I want my organization to do just that. I also love to design accessories so am working on having my own spooky line of accessories for your not so average female.

GGotW: What makes you unique?
ZK: I think we all want to be unique and we all start of that way unfortunately many get lost along the way they choose to look like the In crowd or they dress for acceptance. I was lucky to never fall of the wagon I dress like I feel I want my clothes to tell a story not to be the most expensive and latest trend. I think uniqueness also comes from inside I do what I want and don’t let that voice many of us hear stop me from following my dreams. And I don’t know many chicks that prefer to drink beer and enjoy some horror films rather then go to a fancy restaurant and have wine so if in doubt I guess that makes me unique..

GGotW: Do you have any upcoming projects in the works?

ZK: Yes I do I am working on further expanding my show Mad IE broadcasted via You tube. Did I mention Mad IE it’s a horror variety show with a little of this a lot of that but mainly all horror and some laughs. Like I mentioned earlier am also working on coming out with my own line of hair accessories very soon. As for films well I don’t have any upcoming roles but I hope that changes soon so if any directors are reading this hello, Zombie Kitten is ready for ya..

RIP: Vampira

It has come to our attention that Maila "Vampira" Nurmi, while sleeping peacefully, suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away. Maila had recently turned 86 and was in seemingly good health and spirits.


Funeral arrangements are pending due to a search for relatives, but a memorial service will be held in Los Angeles in the near future. If you wish to be notified, please send your contact information to Ghooled@sbcglobal.net.


Nurmi was TV's "Vampira," wearing dark mascara, blood-red lipstick and a revealing black dress as she introduced such films as Revenge of the Zombies and Devil Bat's Daughter.


She became a cult figure among B-movie buffs and some say she inspired the character of Morticia Addams on TV's The Addams Family in the 1960s.

Her best know work is as the vampire in Ed Wood's 1959 classic B film Plan 9 from Outer Space, co-staring BelaLugosi in his final work.

But her fame didn't lead to long-term wealth. In 1989, Nurmi lost a $10 million lawsuit that contended Cassandra Peterson's late-night horror hostess Elvira pirated her character.


A friend says Nurmi supported herself late in her life by selling handmade jewelry.

Lyliack is a Blonde haired, brown eyed, goth and fetish model, who's been modeling for damn near 20 years. She does it as a hobby, rather than a primary occupation.

Shes also a singer who landed a gig singing the National Anthem at the Caged Supremacy fights in Arizona. She also works as a make-up artist who's done everything from bridal, to club glam, to special effects work.

GGotW: When did you start modeling?
Lyliack: I started modeling about 15 years ago. Wow, that makes me feel old. lol

GGotW: Why did you start modeling?
Lyliack: I was tall, especially for my age, very photogenic, and everyone always complimented me on my eyes. A good friend who was also a photographer, suggested I let him take some shots, give it a try, see if I liked it. I started doing special effects/theatrical make up about the same time, and who better to practice on than myself? lol I realized I could wear a variety of looks, colors and styles with ease, which also made me an excellent candidate for a model. I already had a lot of acting experience as well as experience as a vocalist, so it seemed natural -- and, it was a lot of fun for me! Still is! It comes very easy for me, so I'm very lucky, and by being able to do my own hair/make up and having the acting and musical experience, I have a lot of options, which really keeps things fresh, new and exciting for me.

GGotW: What is the story behind the name Lyliack?
Lyliack: Lyliack is Romanian for Bat. The spelling is slightly tweaked to make it more visually pleasing (at least to me). I also have a fondness for purple and it was doubly cool that lilac, in English, is a shade of purple. Silly, I know, but the simple things amuse me. lol

GGotW: How should one pronounce Lyliack?
Lyliack: It's not as much of a mouthful as one may think. =)
Lie-lack.

GGotW: What kind of stuff have you done as a model?
Lyliack: Wow...everything from adult work to glamour to parts. I've done spokes model work, art gallery pieces focusing on my tattoos, privately commissioned pieces for homes in Europe and the States, magazine work, coffee table books, internet stuff...the list goes on and on.

GGotW: What wont you do as a model?
Lyliack: I'm not interested in doing anything pornographic anymore. I've done my time in that world, and I've moved on. I love doing erotic work though, and it's hard finding artists and photographers who know where that very fine line between erotic and pornographic should be drawn, so I don't get to do a whole lot of it.

GGotW: What draws you to fetish?
Lyliack: I like the edginess of it. It tends to be very sensual, very erotic and has so many creative options, both for the model and the photographer.

GGotW: Who would you like to work with that you haven't?
Lyliack: Good question. There are a lot of vocalists and musicians I'd like to work with, both as a model (i.e., music videos) and as a musician -- Avenged Sevenfold, Evanescence, Disturbed, Alice Cooper, David Coverdale -- just to name a few.

As far as other models and photographers/artists go, I'd love to work with Olivia (her artwork is just so amazing), and anyone who is laid back, easy going, and shares a similar creative vision. I'm also still very eager to work with my husband, who is a photographer and production designer! lol Strange as it sounds, he and I still haven't had a chance to work together as model/photographer or in any kind of film capacity -- our projects just never seem to line up.

GGotW: What work are you most proud of?
Lyliack: Most proud of...that's tough. I loved being spokes model for Division 731 Studios. I think recently, its been singing the National Anthem at the Caged Supremacy fights. That was more of a challenge and more terrifying than any photo shoot I've ever done. I'm also very proud of my work as a make up artist. I'm just very happy to be so multifaceted in this industry -- it allows me more challenge, more experience and exposure and more opportunities to have fun doing something I love. And, I think, in all honesty, I'm proud of just about everything I do. Every new project is a new challenge and when it's over with, and all said and done, having something that I'm happy with and the artist/photographer is happy with, is more than enough reason to be proud.

GGotW: What haven't you done in fetish modeling that you'd like to?
Lyliack: Wow...tough question. I want to do more vampire themed fetish work and I'd love to do some blood fetish stuff. Graveyards and classic car/pin up stuff also hold a lot of interest for me.

Whitembrace is a photographer/graphic designer first. She owns a professional photography and graphic studio/shop. (She’s a Digital Design grad): she has started to stand on the camera’s other side, trying to experiment on herself new techniques,enlightenments and outfits. WeB: I'm going to appear on a US magazine cover in June, and tons of new photoshoot of course! My style is changing in something more rétro and sophisticated.

WeB: I achieved the back cover of the next Red Scream Magazine special issue and my "vampirized" lips are on their latest DVD cover "Vampyres"

GGotW: How did you get started with Red Scream Films?
WeB: I got involved with RS thanks to my Uk based modeling agency ,RS related, "Whores Of Babylon", which always supportes me and adviced me in having the right taste and attitude to appear on that cover.

WeB: I love to do rockabilly and fifties modeling too!

GGotW: Where are you from?
A: I was born in Morganton, NC. At the tender age of two my family decided to move to Rutherfordton,NC due to excellent job opportunites for both of my parents. I resided there up until recently when I decided to move to Charlotte, NC. I make frequent trips back to my small hometown to visit my family and friends.

GGotW: Can you describe your gothic lifestyle?
A: I find myself breaking the mold that society has, sadly, put on the gothic community. Like so many others, I always appreciate having a good time. I try not to dwell on the diappointments that life brings, but the rewards it offers. I'm always looking to have fun. I don't allow closed minded people to upset me. That is what's so great about the gothic genre are the sub genres that society is to blind to see. There are not any other lifestyles that can borrow from other types of lifestyles. It's not a weekend thing or a every other day sort of thing. It's everyday. If I were to be categorized it would definately have to be gothic punk. This can be seen in my fashion, musical taste, hobbies, choices in entertainment, etc.

GGotW: What is the gothic community like in your area?
A: Most of the clubs in the area have certain nights a month that cater to the gothic community. For example, Purgatory is held the second Saturday of every month at Amos Southend. It has a very industrial theme.

GGotW: What got you into modeling?
A: Even as a young girl I loved staring at myself in the mirror and being photographed. My mother almost entered me into a beauty pagent at the age of 4. I suppose I lucked up when she decided to back out. I also majored in television broadcasting. I anchored and reported for the local cable companies local college news and also interned for Asheville, NC news. I love being in front of the camera and thought it would be perfect for me to model since I didn't really fit the whole news reporter image.

GGotW: When did you start?
A: I started modeling for photographers portfolios a few years ago. I became the official model for the industrial band, "Madams", a little less that a year ago.

GGotW: What got you into acting?
A: In high school I took some ATV courses and that inspired me to major in Radio/TV broadcasting. I then found myself anchoring the college news on a local cable channel. I also reported for the show. I found myself being in a lot of videos for my classmates. I interned for WLOS-Asheville. Once I graduated from college, I found myself not really interested in pursuing that career.

GGotW: What have you done as an actress?
A: I have been in a couple of horror films that one of my friends produced. One was a zombie movie titled, Picking at Your Brain. The other was a vamp movie titled, Bloody Forgiveness. I had a great time doing both.

GGotW: What do you collect?
A: Munster's memorabilia-There is history behind that. Sunglasses-I have about 24 pair or so- I do wear my sunglasses at night! Halloween antiques and decorations- I have loved Halloween since I was a small child. And Halloween socks and stockings-Hey, every girl should accessorize from head to toe!

GGotW: What is your fascination with The Munsters?
A: It all goes back to the 80's. I remember my father and I watching it together when I was young. It was one of the few shows that made my father laugh so hard he would have to catch his breath afterwards. He loved Grandpa's crazy schemes. I have collected Munsters Memorabilia since 2002, when my father passed away. When I look at my collection it takes me back to that part of my childhood.

GGotW: What does being the "official" model entail with the band "Madams"?
A: My image can be found in their album art, their flyers, their merchandise, etc. I also go on the road to make appearances at performances. I am there for shock-value. I am going to be colaborating with them on a few upcoming tracks.
