Year in Review 2012

GGotW 2012
We come to the end of another year and its time to look back at the site and the Girls. Things have really fallen off, traffic is down to nearly half of 2011 and Features were at 2006 levels, and that was a half year. I have three interviews in the last five months, and one failed to respond to questions. 5,800 visits per month and an increase to 412 Subscribers, up by 42 over last year.

This year we Featured ten Goth Girls of the Week, all of whom are eligible for Goth Girl of the Year 2012. Voting will be a little different this year as we'll award both a Goth Girl of the Year 2012, and a Goth Girl Fan Favourite 2012. Could be the same girl :)

Featured Models will vote via email as they have in past years, but my assistants and I wont be voting this year. This vote will determine Goth Girl of the Year. Only if there is I tie will my Assistants vote.

The public can look through the profile images and links below to determine their favorite, and use the Micropoll below to vote. Any evidence of cheating or ballot stuffing will result in a new more restrictive vote tool, or the removal of the Goth Girl Fan Favourite 2012.

Year in Review 2011

I know things have been slow at Goth Girl of the Week, but until recently I just wasn't getting the interviews in. I have two I'm working on right now, but I'm going to hold them till the new year.

The last part of the year was a little slow, but we did manage to Feature 19 Goth Girl of the Weeks. Six were from North America and 10 from Europe. We seem to have broken the excessive number of North Carolina models from previous years, maybe I've just interviewed them all.

Visits per month are down slightly to 10,880 from a last year's 10,900. I think it has to do with me getting fewer interviews up this year. We've increased subscribers to 369, up 150 from last year.

Now that Google has Google Plus and there are now Google Plus Pages, I have created a Goth Girl of the Week Google Plus Page. This is where we are going to take public votes this year for Goth Girl of the Year. So sign in to your G+ and follow GGotW+, look for the GGotY 2011 post and read the rules carefully.

No one seems to want to use the Google Plus voting option, so I'll let the public vote with the app at the bottom of the page, but it will not count towards GGotY. Public voting will end on Januarty 15th.

As in past years, the girls will vote, as will my assistants and I. The final result will be revealed as Goth Girl of the Year 2011 in January.

Below is a review of all 19 girls from this year. Take a look over them , click their links to read their interviews and use the G+ Page to cast your vote. Feel free to leave comments too.

If you want to have a chance at being Goth Girl of the Year 2012, send me your submission. I'll conduct an interview with you by e-mail and you too could be a Goth Girl of the Week.

Goth Girl of The Year 2008 winner

We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2008 Goth Girl of the Year.

Delilah

The Italian beauty was featured on April 1st, 2007, but her win is no joke.

As happens every year it was a tough choice for all involved. The process was far from flawed with talk of voting each day, when Poll Daddy was only supposed to take one vote per computer. We'll have to work on that.

The public comments were a real disappointment to us. Some deplorable comments were made and deleted by the Administration, we should never have to do that. We will have to completely change the way the public participates in the voting process next year.

119 Comments were made and over 1300 poll votes, nearly tripling last years participation. Alia Noree edged out Raven in comments but, Ophelia's Overdose pulled off an impressive win on the poll with 35%. It was nice to see that no one received less than 5 votes.

The change in voting format for those of us that work behind the scenes work fantastically as without it we would have seen a three way tie.

Congratulations once again to Italy's Delilah. 2008's Goth Girl of the Year! We salute you right back.

Goth Girl of The Year 2008

This has been a very auspicious year here at Goth Girl of the Week. We have successfully Featured 20 goths, and while we know this is nowhere near a weekly total its a lot better than previous years and it is a lot more difficult to do interviews, collect pictures and format a posting here than we thought it would be. We have made some firsts this year, first baby goth, Maybe. Diverse scope of models, pros and amateurs from Romania to New Zealand. In fact the numbers are split almost evenly with 11 Features from the USA and 9 from the rest of the world.

You the viewers have also made us prosperous with 11,700 visitors per month, and 2.4 pages per visitor, so thanks to you the viewers and submitters.

What's in store for next year? We have a few girls lined-up for Features and are constantly on the lookout for more so please submit.

Here is a quick review of the models featured on Goth Girl of the Week in 2008.

To vote use the polldaddy tool in the top right of our page and leave a comment below for your favorite, this gives you the ability to make two votes this year. As in previous years the comments winner will get one point and the Polldaddy winner will get one point. there are eight other points cast.

Voting will run until January 15th, 2009

Note: This is meant to be a friendly competition. We, as goths, are insulted and treated rudely in life enough. We don't need to see it here in our own environment. We don't know where this argument and insult throwing started, but it wont be tolerated here. Respect the models and the other competitors and remember that sticks, stones, and words all hurt. Any continued use of attacks on any model and the public vote is gone.
